  1. That looks exactly like the ones I have. I am going to try an find a monte carlo one before I start trying to make these work.
  2. Yea I noticed that also Dennis. I don't know of any swap meets or anything like that close to me. I'd have to do some research on that, would anyone have a spare by any chance? I was going to just try and make it work, I am a licensed tech an fabricator, so I know I can put something together. But thinking about more of the easier way, would be to have the correct shifter.
  3. Ok cool. My next issue, when I got this car, the transmission tunnel was cut out(picture) I am not sure why, I have these two tunnel peices, the one to cover the hole is not right but I can fix that, the other has the rectangle hole in it. Is the rectangle hole floor peice for a 4spd Manual?
  4. They both have nss/Rev (picture) What do you mean by the front plug for back up lights? In THE picture, is that switch not also for the back up lights?
  5. Hey guys, so i have done most of my wiring, waiting on my engine from the machine shop. I decided to grab the two shifters I have, to go over the reverse/neutral saftey switch for wiring, when I realized the two shifters I have are two different designs. To boot neither of them match the shifter in this post. Here are the pictures Am I missing something or are these the wrong shifters
  6. Thanks for everything guys I appreciate all your in put
  7. Hey everyone, looking to get opinions. I have my 1970 monte Carlo and right now I have almost everything I need for the bucket install, but I can't help but thinking about the bench seating/column shift. (Also my wife keeps making reference to having a bench rather then buckets) I love the bench seat style, what I like about it is looking nice and factory, kind of making a sleeper sort of look. Bench seating with a big block under the hood. But, buckets and a console look just as nice, more sporty I guess you could say? I have nothing for the bench seating, but again almost everything for buckets. I guess I am just looking for opinions from everyone here, pros/cons! I am getting close to sending the car in for its final body work and then paint and I want to figure out what I am doing interior wise before or during the body work. Thanks everyone!
  8. Cbolt. Sorry I missed the last part of your post, no I did not buy a speedo, going for the all factory look on the dash
  9. Another quick question about the shifter, can I remove the neutral safety switch off the column and use it on the floor shifter? Or is it a different switch I'd have to get? Thank you
  10. Ok, I called aaw and got their tech line, as would told I could hook up my old harness the exact same way, just delete what I don't need, so I did that last night along with a wire tuck so fingers crossed when I get my motor back and finish the wiring it all worked out haha thanks for all the help
  11. So this is the connector for the fan switch the three prong is the new harness for the 3 prong resistor. Now, the 4 prong, is the fan switch, wire colours are 2 orange (doubled up) a blue a yellow and 2 browns doubled up. One brown comes from the fuse box the other is a small pig tail tat says ac feed. Do I need any of these or do I tape those up an forget about them and use the stock harness.
  12. So I am hoping to revive this thread, I too am install this 510336 aaw harness and I trying to figure out the ac wiring, (even though I am deleting it) with the new aaw kit, do you use the 4 pin or the 1 pin behind the dash for anything? And in the engine bay, with the new kit it comes with the orange power wire supposed to go to the blower motor, do you use that? HELP HELP
  13. Awesome thanks everyone!
  14. Awesome thank you very much!
  15. Robert, thank you very much, for this! Great help to me, and the pictures are a perfect reference
  16. Ok that was a lot of information to take in, so, I am doing a complete rewire of the car with a kit, I bought from opgi. I have all the peices, wiring, extension harness etc. This steering column doesn't look like it even had a shifter mounted to it, only thing I see is the arm still mounted to the column in the engine bay, so does this sound like this car had a floor shifter before? If it does that the wiring kit I have should wire it all up no problem. Thanks Chris
  17. Thanks Robert. So I have bought the delete cover from opgi, I installed that with the blower motor, now for the blower motor resistor, do you have to make your own hole in the ac delete box? Because mine has no hole for it. Which center vent are you referring to? The door in the heater box that sat behind the ac unit? And when you say the three vents, which three vents? I am just trying to get heat into the cabin in one way or another. Sorry for all the questions, and thank you for your help!
  18. Thank to Dennis for all of the pictures!! One last question for this I promise haha, has anyone done an ac delete if so, how did it all workout? The car I have had ac but I have deleted it, I have a few dashes with and without actually controls, do I need to change the heater box? Thanks
  19. Hey everyone, so I know I have seen this on here I just can't find it. I am putting buckets and console. The person how owned the car before me, was planning the same thing, and has taken the shift off the column and put a cover I guess? To close it up? I am putting in the console soon, and I am wondering how having the column shift steering column and floor shifter will work together. Do I have to keep the steering column in neutral, park? This confuses me Chris
  20. Dennis, thank you, my email is chrismunro56@gmail.com, I will look through some of these here aswell thank you. Also, I see on one of the diagrams, it shows one vacuum line, would you happen to have a diagram for vacuum line locations aswell?
  21. Any ideas anyone? Need to get this heater box reinstalled and tested soon
  22. Thanks guys, yea it's not to bad really it's just the dollar right now that makes it difficult. Also making sure I get the right stuff so I don't have to ship something back lol. Thanks for the input everyone, when I get to that step I'll let you know how it goes!
  23. Dan, 1970 Mc, it is an ac dash, but not installing ac on the car, before I put it all back in I want to make sure everything is working electrically Thanks
