I have a Spectre GM34F and it leaks around the filler neck. Before I buy another, does anyone have a recommendation for a 70 tank, (no EEC, no vents)?

Mine arrived, #299, (must have slept in that day)

What tool do I need to remove the lower exterior trim? It’s temporary removal so I don’t want to damage the trim.

I agree with you totally except for the win in the end. Lol. I never seem to win because there is always something else.
I thought it was just me. I can't seem to start a project without soon regretting it. Add to that, I refuse to leave well enough alone.... When I buy a car I always say I'm going to enjoy it as is and not change a thing. I should know better!

Congrats on the purchase, welcome to the club.

After reading through this thread I better stop putting off pulling the wheels to check the brakes and wheels bearings.

I use 100% cotton towels, liquid detergent, no fabric softener or bleach. Rinse cycle twice too, to remove the detergent. Most of my vehicles are black, so any issue would show up if these didn't work.
I also use a product called Zaino, been the best product I've ever used on the black cars. Goes on effortlessly, comes off with no streaks or haze, holds up for quite a long time.
Their towel recommendations are listed below:
Zaino user here as well, I use their borderless towel to dry, (in addition to removing their product).

EDIT:
So I went to the GM Nats site and found the below list. They have the stock class winner as a guy named 'Robert Peters'...
Never heard of him.... 😉

That's for the red 1970 you're talking about, I think?
The one I called about, is the 1972, black one that had no pics or details yet. It's a 'New Listing'. Sounded like a nice car, but I'm sure the bullies here will pick it apart 😁. He didn't really have a price yet either, and there were a couple things that may be of concern. I asked him to take a picture of the cowl trim tag as well.
Sorry, I was looking at the red 70. It's Dave Stanton's old car.

Great video. Steve Magnante lives up here in Massachusetts. He is certainly a walking encyclopedia of auto knowledge.

Thanks for the replies. I ordered a gauge from Jegs, will put it in the glove box while I make sure everything is working well.

A Good Day Gone Bad

I spent the day yesterday detailing the car for the season. As I was wiping down the door and around the mirror, the mirror pops out of the bracket and bounces off the door on its way to the floor with a big chip of paint right behind it.
