It doesn't appear that he is having too many issues overall considering the complexity of the panel. A good replacement panel would have been easier but part of the fun of these projects is fabricating your own parts.

Boy, that sure looks like a winner. Here's the link so you can blow it up a lot more. (just click on the pic, it'll pop up a bigger window). Obviously the 2 outer panels will match the 69 Chevelle tail lights & probably be unusable, but the center panel sure looks right.
jft69z- Great job on the research on the other thread. 👍
Thanks for posting a link. Couldn’t get it to work for some reason.

Wow. Yours looks like great compared to mine. So weird how how these cars rust alike but different at the same time.

Just got off the phone. Bad news.
It is a chevelle part that’ll need to be modified.
The bumper mounts are different.
might just have to fab it up. I’ll get new body mounts first.
The Parts Place is only an hour away from me so I might cut that part out and run it up there to compare it. -

I agree. Hard to believe they make that Monte specific piece. Hopefully it’s true. I looked at the kid’s ‘70 and his is rotted the same.
-
Cool. I’ll get pics of my rotted one tomorrow.
Here’s a Chevelle part. The square nuts in the center face the same way as the monte, but the outer one are off.

Anyone know where this piece fits? Been searching the part number and can’t find pics.
Pulled the rear bumper off and there a lot of rust.
The lower bumper bracket mounts are gone.

No problem. Glad to help. 👍

I think you’ll be able to use it for pieces parts like I am going to do.
-
Yes.
Bought it from the parts place. -
-
Cool.
I’ll dig that piece out tomorrow anyway and post some pics. -
Looks good. I have that piece your talking about. I just moved it last month to one of my storage places. I’ll try and find it and post pics against my trunk if you want.
Let me know. -
Looking good man!

I think you can use the Chevelle trunk weather strip lip.
-
Wow. I’ll be watching this one.
