  1. that was my concern too dont want to go too long or it could bind with suspension travel, but then I dont want it too short or Ill only be riding on half the spline channel

Ill have to look at a couple driveshafts I have around here tommmorow, if I dont have what I need Ill get one off one of you guys here

  2. if someone could measure their driveshaft and see if it's around 56 inches that would help me, then Ill be looking for an A body th350 driveshaft, because mine has already been modified for a Th400 and now is too short for the 700r4

  3. In the summer I put the 385 and 700r4 into the Monte, got it all running but never got around to a driveshaft, the original driveshaft was for a turbo 400 and is completley different. Now I just measured it and Im around 56 inches in between the rear dif and transmission and I believe the output shaft on the transmission is a 27 spline output. Is there a driveshaft from another car that will work or am I gonna have to find a driveshaft from another A body, cut it down and find a 27 spline yoke?

  4. thanks guys, just had the tranny upgraded to a 30 spline, stage 2 shift, heavy duty bands, corvette servo, shorter tail stock. Today I ordered the 24-2600 hole shot convertor from B&M. Now just gotta find some time to pull the engine back out, throw the new tranny in then its time for exhuast which is gonna be more shopping around. Cant wait only been 4 damn years (coming up to 5 now)

  5. Well getting a real nice tax return, so Im getting the 700r4 built up for the 383. My question is what kind of stall should I be running for a convertor? Its a well built 383 stroker with a average grind cam, motor still has some bottom end but does still have a good lope to it. Someone said I should be running around 2500 stall then someone else says around 3000 stall? any reccomendations?

  6. Im pretty sure thats what it is, no torque, means no torque convertor, it clicked in twice, if it wasnt fully engaged the engine and tranny wouldnt go together properly am I right? the torque convertor got water in it when it was sitting for a while too, no matter now because its coming out and a built 700r4 is takin its place

  7. I am currently getting a 700r4 built for my car, but the turb0 400 thats in the car right now is dead. It worked just perfect when it came out of the chevy van, then when I put it into th Monte I got nothing, if I put the car on jacks itll move the wheels just fine, get the car going 90 miles an hour in third gear on blocks bust as soon as it gets put on the pavement absolutley nothing. I did put a shift kit in it so I bet I monkeyed something up, anything to look for to make it do something?

  8. I dont know what the heck is going on but the damn thing is stuck in drive, it's not the linkage because I took the linkage all apart and its right in the freaken tranny, been three years to get the car on the road and I run into this mad

  9. I am in the same boat as you, converting from A TH350 to a turbo 400, I actually found a u-joint at the parts store that has the bigger end caps on one side and the smaller end caps on the other side, workedlike a hotdamn

  10. With out this club I would be completly lost in my voyage to finish this car, I thank you Kevin for providing this resource to make it look like to my friends that I know what I am doing. Showing people this site also shows them why I wont part this car out to a Chevelle  . And I am glad that you are resigning without a sex scandal laugh

  11. he actaually had cowl induction installed on his car thats cool. Nowadays if you ask GM for a special option on your vehicle they would laugh at you not like back in the day you could have your car like a wopper any way you wanted it
