Gorgeous! A real compliment to the first gen Monte family!! I love to see subtle, yet flattering, modifications that don't alter the classic profile of our first gens! The rare color combo, classic yet modern wheel/tire combo, lower stance, trim sport mirror, bumper guards, stock grill and full halo top all combine to make your '70 an elegant, head-turning ride - well done!
Thank you very much! That is exactly what I am going for. I want the car to look classic, but behave like a more modern car. I can't wait to get it back! I'll post more pics when she's mine for good!

Thanks! The color is Misty Turquoise. It's a factory 1970 color. My goal is for it to resemble stock, but act more modern. I'll be daily driving the car.

Hi all, I removed the rear glass on my 70 to repair some rust. I am curious on what adhesive to use when I reinstall it? Butyl tape, adhesive from a tube? Also, any tricks on how to make sure I don't have any leaks would be appreciated. Lastly, I'll be using molding clip screws to replace the factory rivets which held the original molding clips. Any hints with that?
Thanks!

I was wondering, will an 8" Chevy Rally trim ring fit a 7" Rally Wheel?
-
As usual you guys are awesome! I appreciate the help.

Can anyone take a guess at the rally width and tire sizes on this monte? It's the exact way I want my wheel and tire combo to look. I am guessing that the rear is an 8" rally and the front is 7". Thanks!

The system is R-12

My 70 Monte sat in the Bay Area for 11 years in my parents drive way. When the car was a daily driver 11 years ago the A/C worked perfect. Now, the compressor spins but the system has no cold air at all. I was wondering if you all could give me advice on where to start? I have heard that the compressor gasket can go bad when he system is not used for long periods of time. Is that where I should start?

Hi all, i am in need of advice/help. My friend and I are restoring my 1970 Monte. The car sat at a decline for 11 years in the Bay Area and has rust behind the rear side marker lights and in the normal spot in front of the rear tire. The driver side quarter can be saved but the passenger side is done for. I am looking for a replacement patch or a full quarter. I would rather not buy an aftermarket one due to the use of poor metal from overseas. Any advice?
Thanks, Brian
P.S. I will try to post a pic when I figure out how.

I need some advise. My friend and I restoring my 1970 Monte Carlo. The front and rear bumpers are very straight but need to be re chromed. Do you all suggest I re chrome the originals (at $390 a piece) or buy new reproductions for a lower cost? Thanks in advance, Brian

Hi all, I am restoring my grandfather's 1970 Monte Carlo. I have been able to remove the window trim molding successfully. I need to move on to the rain drip molding and lower body molding. What's the best way to remove these without damaging them. Thanks!!!!
