1. Hey y'all, A few days ago I started my Monte and let it run to get warm. Drove for a few hundred meters and the motor stopped. Nothing new really beacuse mine has the tendency to do that when it's cold. But this time I couldn't start it again. When turning the key I can hear a (I think) relayswitch clicking, but that's it. What could be wrong? Gav
2. It's a Delco replacement unit. Should work fine I guess...

4. Oh yeah, I remember that thing yes. If I'm not mistaking it's connected properly. Any other suggestions?

I wanted to see your kickpanel with speaker and the aftermarket guards, but there's nothing there :-( Gav
6. Quote: You did'nt mention a grounding strap that goes to the light switch. Is it there? Jon.[/b] Hmm, there was no ground on the unit. But should it be there? That could explain the malfunction. Ed, thanks for the tip, but it's dimming or nothing :-)
7. When you turn the lightknob the instrumentlights should dim or brighten. Well, mine haven't done so since I bought my Monte. I replaced the whole lightunit and saw that on the old one some sort of spring was missing, so yes, it's broken. BUT... the new one still doesn't have any effect. What could be wrong then? Gavin
8. Is it possible to upgrade the wipersystem with a newer type? What I found is that the existing wipers are not firm enough when it comes to serious rain. Also there's no interval; there's only slow or fast wiping. Anyone?
9. But is it possible to take the moulding off without the special tool? Another important question: I live in the Netherlands where the climate is moist and rust is common. Here we have the trouble that almost all rearwindows (the lower portion) have rust. Around the windows almost always some type of silicon kit is used to make the window waterproof. Is there a new product out there that makes leaky, rusty rearwindows a thing of the past?
10. The back of the buckets that is. There's three screws, and then there's the releasebutton. Where does it attach? Can't see it... Gav I gotta buy me a factorymanual....
11. Well, I couldn't resist. I took the headliner out! Though Jim said things come off easier than they are put back, I'm not too worried about putting my new FURRY headliner back in. Seems like a piece of cake, but I'll keep you posted on my progress :-) Gav
12. How does this come off? I heard that you need some special device to remove the moulding. Is this true? And oh yeah, why is the rear moulding $100 more expensive than the front? Gavin
13. Thanks! I guess it's like taking out the dash. From what I've read it had to be a real PITA, but I thought it was a piece of cake. Gav
14. When people talk about installing a new headliner you mostly hear it's a major pain. Why is that. I can't imagine what the job looks like or how the thing is fitted. I don't even have an idea of what the headliner looks like from the other side (inside that is). Does anyone have a picture of this? Gav
15. Monte, you da man! Thanks a lot! I did as you said and presto, it got out. But damn, if you don't know what to do you'll be puzzled for weeks. Anywayz, thanks again! Gav
