  1. I love chrome chrome wheels and polished aluminum and usally hate black wheels, but I like these and they look great on your monte. And I also like the stance too
  2. i'd look into moser, I used all moser rear end stuff in my camaro rear end and it was an easy install and went together great and easy and has held together great, but i did switch out the 4.88's for a 4.11 gear which moser had and shipped very quickly
  3. Austin

    Kevin S 1971 Monte Carlo

    that is one beautiful car
  4. yeah I like them, anything was better than those centerlines I had on the car
  5. yeah i got the build sheet in the garage somewhere. and when i got the car it came with a 72 LT1 motor (and yes i ran the numbers its a 330hp LT1) that replaced the 454 after the little brat blew it up in 72 but it has a spun bearing now. and I'd love for that old man to sell it to me but he hates the fact that 1. I have his first car, and 2. I wont sell it back to him. Even tho he has a 70 chevelle in which my original 454 and 12 bolt are in..... but as far as the suspension leveling stuff i have the compressor(which im told is bad) and 1 shock protector and im pretty sure the air line is still on the car but not 100% sure, does anybody reproduce these parts?
  6. yeah im looking to put all the trim and SS badges back on the car, our original intention was to strip the car, cage it, and turbocharge with spray and make a racecar out of it, but we found something lighter, and better for that. and as far as original SS stuff, the only thing I need is the outside trim pieces, the 454(which i actually know where the original 454 is for my car but the guy wont sell it) and the 12 bolt rear end. but the the original color of the car was antique white, with a black vinal top with sandalwood interior but when I got the car it had 70 black door panels so which is perfect cause I pulled out everything else that was sandalwood and its gonna be replaced with black int. because I am not a fan of that color interior. My 85 camaro had almost that same interior and I pulled it out for black also, and as far a the car I dont think im gonna paint it antique white again, im thinking copper or primer. and no big block either, im more of a built small block chevy guy
  7. Just ordered from the parts place. And yeah I know, it seems like opgi never has anything in stock when I go to order, I'm still waiting everyday for them to get my vinal top trim corners in stock. And yes Jared I actually do have a real SS, I thought it was just a plain monte like the guy told me but when I brought it home it had some ugly buckets and the original back seat painted black. Do I pulled all that out and yes the build sheet was their, when I first saw it I didn't think anything of it because it said Z20. I didn't know anything about a monte Carlo but I liked em, but like 5 days later I read on the Internet that it's an SS option. So I tracked down the original owner who lived in Ada oh. And he gave me the whole story on the car, I still got the buildsheet somewhere in the garage too. And hey, I only paid $1300 for mine
  8. Yeah it's rough but it's something to start with I could always have it re-chromed. And yeah I know, I've been pricing side pieces, and I'm either gonna buy them from opgi cause I get 10% off my next purchase or I might try to find or piece an original set together. I'm not sure which direction I'm gonna go with the side trim yet.
  9. and do you guys know if the the piece right above the bumper would bolt up the same? cause i found this on ebay and if so i'll buy it http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Monte-Carlo...677&vxp=mtr
  10. thanks guys, I do have a actual real 71 454SS but the idiot i bought if from took alot of the trim off it so unfortunately i dont have that piece, and dan do you know who the member is and how much he would charge for this piece? I'd really like o get the trim piece and black out my panel thanks Austin
  11. alright this might be a dumb question but I saw a monte today and it had this piece of trim and I liked the way the panel was black and I liked it and i was wondering what exactley is this piece called and if and where i can buy it? thanks btw this is not the car I saw but it was like it^ because i have trim on the bottom that is right above the bumper but i'd like to buy the piece that goes below the trunk lid this might have sounded like a dumb post but im still trying to learn everything about these cars
  12. and yes I do plan to put all the side chrome/molding back on the car. I think it'll make it look better. And thanks Andreas its coming together slowly but surley
  13. thank jared, and yeah the little 350 should be quick once its done. and the reason I put the new motor in it is because after i blew it up i got around 30 calls/texts from people talking crap cause they heard about it so i had to show em its alive again, since alot of people around here hate me for leaving the camaro scene and going to the first gen monte even tho I love the car. but yeah the 350 is going to become a stroker, after were done building the 406 for the 73Z the 350 i getting bored either .40 over or .60 over, havent decided yet
  14. thanks for the welcome fellas, and I was hoping none of them had green cars cause I always wanted a FG monte green with green int and a dark green vynal top cause I always thought that would be sharp. and CR stands for columbus racing jared, its a club/ forum ive messed around with in the past for parts and stuff
  15. heres the car with the new wheels(if anyone cares) and heres the pic of the new motor(1987 block) in the car not pretty but it moves it gets dissasembled next week for the 400 crank and new rods, pistons ect., BM thumpr cam, oil pan/pump, pulley system, wires, custom headers, cross ram and holleys, and fab. valve covers.
