  1. I used D&A Old School Automotive for my SS. I did it I think 3 years ago. They were MUCH cheaper than Gardner. I can't say about concourse quality because I don't know concourse. But I can say my head pipes were original GM and the D&A head pipes were spot on. Every bend, bulge, and dent. The system was a breeze to install. I may have taken some picks of them laying side by side. I'll see if I can find them. Dale

  3. I actually saw a Yenko Monte Carlo back in the early 90's. It was trashed, no motor or front end but had the YS serial number on the door jam and Yenko headrest covers. Seems like it was a 70 model.

  4. Headed out about noon to go to a show and a cruise-in later in the evening. Got about 10 miles from the house and realized I had forgotten a jacket. So I turn around and head back. I pull up in front of the garage and turn her off to run inside. As I walk around the front of the car a loud BANG and antifreeze gushing everwhere!!  Bummer :-(   The radiator cap had come loose and hit the bottom of the hood. The metal lip around the top of the radiator opening had cracked and come apart. Looking at it, it appears to have been cracked for a while and finally let go. I guess I'll be pulling the radiator tomorrow.

  5. DING DING DING  Give that man a teddy bear!!   It is Kansas, God's Country!!   I am in eastern Kansas about 1/2 between Kansas City and Wichita. It is good whitetail and turkey country. I am fortunate to have my own little slice of hunting heaven, 130 acres.   :-)   The Monte is Classic Copper. I just am not a good photographer LOL. I am prejudiced of course but I think it is a fantastic car!!   I had a 71 402 TH400 back in high school same color inside and out. When I saw this SS about 3 years ago I just had to buy it. Oh the memories!!

  6. I am thinking of restoring the grille in my 71 SS. The chrome was restored by a previous owner so it is in good shape. I did a search and see that the uprights and the groove running around the periphery of the grille should be black. I'm guessing satin black similar to the other trim on the car? Does the black in the groove run just in the very bottom of the or up the sides too? What color silver should the slats be? Thanks and Merry Christmas!! Dale
