  1. I had to remove header on pass side to get my 700 in what a mess.Looks like header maker would give a little more side room since it has a mile under the car.I had mine on my lift and it worked better.But my lift can't go up all the way because of ceiling height.When I built shop didn't think I was getting a lift but it still works great.Had to cut trans jack down to work with it.

  2. I got it out yesterday by tapping the axles in and they were stuck in the seals a little tight but the bolt that holds the pin in had to remove the right side carrier cap to get it out.Going to get brgs and new seals this morning.Boy some rust hanging in right tube will get it out before I put it back together.Only on right side I guess from sitting for yrs in the shed.Had the brg rusty mess.Thanks for help.Hope this finishes this car so I can get started in the 35

I think they are a little stuck since they have never been out will tap on them inward and pull clips.Thanks.Hope this is the last thing since I've replaced the 700 2 times since on road since Nov.Rear was not noisy till Sunday going for a ride.But after sitting in shed for 6yrs and 2 yrs on the frame off build.Guess it has to be something wrong.It has 122000 miles on car since I bought it new in 71

  4. What is the trick to getting axles out of my 71 with posi.Can't get to clips to remove them.Do you pry the springs out.It is the one with the 4 springs and no spider gears.Thanks for help.Had to remove the right side cap to get pinion bolt out.Thanks for info to get this solved

I have a TPI on this car and have Lokar cables so you have to keep playing with adjustment.But to see if the rpmĀ  goes up or down while driving I pull back to 3rd and engine rpm goes up so I think the converter is locking up.I talked to the trans guy yesterday and he said the has it go in OD with pressure not electrical lockup.Will not use him for the 35 I started.Thanks for info

After a month or so finely got it back in and now the shift into reverse is so hard you better hold the brake or you will hit something.Shifts in od ok I guess.When you get in od you can pull back in 3rd and the rpm goes up.About tired of messing with this trans.Next time will go the 4l60 route.Any suggestion on what is happening to this trans now.Thanks fo help

Just got it back after 3 weeks to go through it again and he told me he wired the lockup inside the trans so I don't need a lockup kit.Really don't know what to believe now.Will put it in today or tomorrow and see.Next time will go with someone else.Have a bad time with this nut.Been trying to get it right since Nov 8.He says the old 700's are about worn out and the valve body are junk now.Thanks for insight on this mess.

This guy has messed it up and I don't think he knows how to fix it as he has comebacks all the time and everyone around here says stay away for that shop.But he has been in business for 10 yrs or so.Hate to get messed up like that.But I bought it from him when I was setting up the frame before putting the body on.Thank for help when I get it back I will put a TCI valve body in for my sake not his and their lock up kit

I have 373 posi, 245x70 tires and the guy I had build it had me wire 1 hot wire to plug and it locks up in 4th but to my thinking it has no way to unlock coming down.He has the transĀ  when I get it back I will go to Summit and get the proper constant pressure valve body and change it before I put it in

Had to remove 700r4 again yesterday for it would not shift right after valve body change for the 2nd time.Why don't the header mfg make it easy to get trans out without pulling 1 side header off.All it need is maybe an inch.Hope the overhaul guy gets it right this time.Have any of you used the TCI constant pressure valve body on a 700r4.Thanks

  11. Yes the Cars Inc is where I got my covers and they fit great and the correct cloth.They are the only ones who have the cloth material was told.O my other cars I had Lebaron Bonney do up the leather for it and the convertible top also.

  12. I got my interior from CARS they have the org cloth and it is dead on just like the factory and I think they are the only one with that material.But all the repop foam I see it that harder dense stuff listed on the web sites.My frt seat has sun rot on drivers side all over.Thanks
