does the '2 pronged wire' look like the black thing on the end? also , the thermal fuse is available at Pepboys (twas where i got mine <$3) tho originally somebody had hot wired my fuse too. but some 'experts' tell me that that particular compressor on the monte is virtually bomb proof, and the thermal dingum was more of an afterthought than a true necessity...

good luck

jon, nice picture and details. the two wire connector is on the other end near the evaporator/firewall.the other crazy thing is the connector plugs into this thing called a poa valve, looks like a alum. flute.this alum flute has one more hole in it than the original ,and that extra hole has a switch threaded into it .if i plug in the two wires to the switch the rt. hood hinge hits it.which is how i noticed it in the first place .im hoping to switch to the original style valve and remove the two wire connector that someone spliced in.the wires and switch appear to be some kind of cut off switch. i figure if i put it back as original its that much closer to working. i would have posted a picture but i know zero about this computer stuff. thanks gene

my mystery is almost over,i removed the part that had the two wires going to it, it was hitting my hood hinge, and it had a sticker on the bottom from old air products in tx. i called thier expert who said it replaces the original poa valve that chevy had problems with but he didnt know why it hit my hood hinge. so after grinding the bracket a little and turning this valve i think my hood hinge will clear.
