Guest Posted June 1, 2006 Share Posted June 1, 2006 my friend has an early 80s chevy pickup. he just got a rebuilt trans from a "part time" transmission guy. at first the torque converter wouldn't slide on trans. so we take it back and the guy took the pump off and said it was the wrong seal for the torque converter. anyway he put a new seal in and put pump back on said good to go. so we put in truck and as soon as you fire it up you hear a slow a dull rattle from trans. rattle goes up and down with rpm in or out of gear. clunks when shifting in all gears and in gear it vibrates with rpm. the guy he got it from says its not tranny and got pissed when we argued with him. any body have a clue what it could be?
