Quadrajet question.

I have a Rochester Quadrajet with the number: 7041200 FA, 0951. I know that means it’s for a 1971, 49 state emissions, Chevy, with an automatic and it was made on March 5th 1971.

Here’s the issue… The Nasty Z28 web page says it is for a LS3 396/402. What numbers decode that?

It appears to me that it could be on anything from a low horsepower 350 4v to a 454. Does anyone know how to tell the application?

Thank you

JC

The decoding you are using is basic. For example the 0 that identifies it as an automatic may also give you some other info since there are 5 even numbers.

The info is out there, I have a big book somewhere I will see if I can dig it out.
