iceman
Has anyone seen an SS454 with manual drum brakes? I was decoding my POP tonight but the disc brake code isn't there. I can't imagine trying to stop this car with manual drum brakes! ------------------ If you get out of your car without needing to change your pants, you weren't driving fast enough. 70 SS454 clone - Cortez Silver with functional cowl induction 70 SS454 Shadow Gray
ejw71
Iceman, Was informed via this website that some early '70s had drum brakes. Therefore, 454SS could have been so equipped. I've seen neither. Please show us a picture of the LS6 clone. iceman
The SS was built in May of 70 so the early car theory is out. Does anyone else have their POP and does it call out the power disc brake code? Ed, pics are coming as soon as I can get my PC to communicate with my camera. ratchetmaster
JL2 is the power disc front brakes code. I pretty sure it was part of the SS package. Just like the F41 suspension was part of the package. Some other montes did come without PDB. I saw one without A/C and without PDB once. I thought it was strange to see a monte that way. ------------------ Tim (Ratchetmaster) Former owner (13 yrs) 1970 SS454 MonteCarlo CURRENTLY OWNED CARS: 1973 RS LT Z28 1972 454 Elcamino (almost done!!) 1969 442 Convertible 1968 RS SS 350 Camaro 4sp. 1999 T/A WS-6 ram air A4 1995 WWW LT1 Caprice A4 [This message has been edited by ratchetmaster (edited 10-13-2003).]
