  1. Thanks Larry! I see green and blue Monte's how about gray owners? Hey Scott do you know something I don't. I have three sons and two daughters, but no son-in-law? I took some Advil liquid and heading for the Jacuzzi.
  2. Thanks that picture helps a lot. How about me laying on cold concrete with arthritis, anyone got some tips on that?
  3. Awesome couple of inches Scott!
  4. I really like your '72 Cory especially the rally stripes; thanks for the pics and tips.
  5. Hey Rob, How do I lift the body a short distance? I only have a floor jack. I would be nervous about bending something? I hate it when I do that, just a little forum spasm.
  6. I had no idea they were supposed to be silver, thank you. I guess when it was painted that was painted too. I don't remember the date, but the car was painted back when lacquer paint in CA. I'll get some silver, any suggestions on what kind of paint to use?
  7. Thanks, that was my plan, to address the rust that is. POR 15 is found where?
  8. Got started on the bumpers. Brackets off to powder coat. Everything came off easily, I sprayed it down with WD40 a couple of days ago. Thanks to everyone for the input.
  9. I have to admit it looks better in pictures. But thanks!
  10. Thanks everyone, I was planning on having the parts media blasted and powder-coated. Does that sound good to you Bruce? I did that with some of my under the hood stuff already, and yes that snowball can form in 75 deg. California weather too.
  11. Thanks guys!
  12. Hey all, Family bought me new bumpers for my birthday, they arrived today. Question: When removing the bumpers it looks like the easiest way to do that is to unbolt the brackets from the frame. Is that the correct way?

  19. I would talk to Leo Konik at Konik's Klassiks 4615 Yankee Road, St. Clair MI, 48079 Telephone: 810.334.4162
  20. Thanks Aaron. The furthest I've driven it is about 100 miles and it was fine. It is hard to know how many miles it has on it because when they go over 100k it starts over. I have all of the receipts since new and can track the mileage which shows 86,000. What is strange is that one of the receipts from an old smog test showed over 100k back in the 80's. All of the other receipts from when the car was new show it as never having gone over. Anyway I've gone through it pretty well and it runs real well. It is geared for the highway as most of the Monte's are. My in-laws live in Washington and we could stop in Oregon if we time the trip to match the 2014 meet in Oregon. I'm still thinking about it. I need to rebuild the trans. as it leaks and has lost its passing gear. Thanks for the response!
  21. Great Video, as a newbie I have not had the opportunity to go to a meet yet. Do most of you drive, or trailer? My Monte is a clean survivor, but it is a survivor, I don't know how comfortable I would be driving to Oregon from Central California.
  22. Great attention to detail in that engine compartment Sam. Looks great. I would love to get mine there too.
  23. Great looking Monte, keep the pictures coming.
  24. Congratulations on an awesome barn-find. Love to watch your progress!
