  1. I would give Leo Konik a call, he knows all things Monte Carlo. (810) 334-4162. If its out there he'll know and know how to get it.
  2. Yeah but you got more bang for your buck too.
  3. Very nice, as mentioned by others can't wait to here it roar!
  4. Hydraulic lifter failing? When it fails to pump up you get the noise and the valve does not open causing it to run rough?
  5. Hey Sam what a great photo, beautiful blue Monte! Nice work on the sway bar Dennis, probably feels like its riding on rails, very nice.
  6. Hey Murray open up that cleaner while smoking and you will be quitting real soon. Sounds like a good wife who only wants to keep her loving hubby around and healthy for a good long while. Still have to love the irony of the photo though...
  7. That's awesome Tyler!
  8. Hi John, I have to do mine as well. I've been working on other areas, but am about ready to address this issue as well. I purchased a new printed circuit from Leo and http://koniksklassiks.com/. Also I found a helpful video on Craigslist, you can view it here: http://s1289.photobucket.com/user/psheean/media/MonteCarloDash_zpsf34e840a.mp4.html Like the guys said, take your time, and get a friend if you remove the dash as the video says.
  9. Very nice Mike, thanks for the pics too.
  10. Cool Aaron, as your 8-track says, "Right, your bloody well right you got a bloody right to say." Nice pics, thanks.
  11. Thanks Andreas, I will be using a built up 200, stock is no good. So the overdrive is a good thing?
  12. They would not be hard to steal for sure, but I'm not aware of any secure ones. Are you going to get your rims media blasted and powder coated?
  13. I'm thinking about a 200 4R for my Monte. My TH350 is numbers matching so I'll keep it, but the car was stored for several years and the seals are gone. Monte needs his litter box changed more often than my cat's. Do you more experienced Monteholics have a preference 200 4R or 700?
  14. Nice work on the distributor, and I'm glad you didn't need a tow too.
  15. Yes Larry we have seen your pants!
  16. You can borrow a fuel pressure gauge from O'Riely's or Auto Zone and check your fuel pump, mine did that when I first purchased it, it sat for a long while, I thought it was the fuel pump, I rebuilt the carb and it is fine now. Monte sat for almost three months this winter while I was waiting for a part and it took a few turns to get the fuel back up, but I think that is normal on mechanical pumps. If it hard cranks when hot, I'm not up on that, I have seen in the past on a friends GTO overheated wires, caused by Header clearance issues caused the engine to crank slowly. That's all I got.
  17. Thanks Glen, My mind can't conceive of anything off color, no need to fill me in, I will stay happily ignorant. Have a great evening, it is sunny and just under 80 degrees. I'm not rubbing it in, just enjoying our warm Gold Coast weather. Hang in there the ice will melt.
  18. Bruce, you might try uninstalling your printer and then installing the latest drivers from the manufacturers web site. That should solve your printing issues. Terry, yes on the head cleaner, that way I can listen to the Doobie Brothers without any noise from the dirty heads. You will be happy with Windows 7 pro. Like I mentioned my daughter has it and the learning curve from XP is easy. I have 8.1 and after getting used to it, love it. It took me about two weeks to get comfortable with it, at which time my household stayed away from my office. Take care!
  19. New Plates for Monte: (71MC4PS) 1971 Monte Carlo for Patrick Sheean
  20. Hi Terry, Windows 7 professional is the best, I don't know what your grandson has. We have windows 7 on a laptop and it is overall an easy to transition from XP. You need to check and see if you computer can run Windows 7 without other upgrades, like RAM for example. Windows 7 may require you to upgrade your memory. Just my $.02. (P.S., can I borrow your 8track collection one of these days )
  21. I took a picture of the relay I'm referring too, I'm not sure if this is what you were referring too. There are two relays for the A/C, one is this one behind the glove box and mounted on the frame. The other is mounted under the hood on the A/C condenser cover near the fire wall, it is for the high speed switch for the fan blower. Please note on the wiring the orange wire. Is this the wire to which you are referring?
  22. I sent you a PM. Let me know.
  23. The second relay (if I'm understanding you correctly) is for anti-dieseling. It engages the A/C compressor to help stop the engine. On my 1971 it has an orange wire. My dash pad is off right now, But I can't trace it right now, I looked, just to much stuff in the way. I'll be pulling it apart soon. I left my relay unplugged as I don't want my A/C compressor engaging every time a turn off my engine. Did you look in the tech section for a wiring diagram, I seem to remember one being there? Sorry I wasn't more help.
  24. Thanks Aaron, I like the more level or raked as you put it look too. I've thought about new springs, I just don't know yet. How as the ride improved, I have new shocks all around and my Monte has a real nice ride. Thanks Robert, my body bushings are pretty good, I snapped a picture on my replacing bumpers thread. I know they will have to be done some day though.
