your going to miss those except at the pumps, the highway. I have a set 2.56 gears. Just kidding. I had, I thought 3.08s in my 71 monte with a 402 and if I stayed under 90 mph I could get as high as 22 mpg. That was when I could get a gallon for .48 cents. That might date me a little. -

Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?

I fried 4 bluetooth controllers and couldn't figure out why, changed the voltage regulator and hope that solves the problem. The original regulators have a wider range which I was told the new electronics can't handle the spike, with the electronic regulator you don't get the high spikes. Not sure if that helps or if you are still running the old style regulator. -
Here is what I woke up to this morning. It is going to be a few more days before my Monte comes out from its warm winter home.

I didnt do the heater core, looked at it and I am hoping it was done during the rebuild. I know now would be the time, another 4 hours I am guessing. I am getting too old for dash, or rather under dash work. Who knows, probably another few weeks till we get decent weather here. Thanks for pointing it out. Grant -

picking away at the list, passenger mirror installed, power trunk latch installed, power door locks installed (not factory) amp/volt conversion done. still waiting for replacement tach. Also waiting for left door handle mechanism. I think thats it. Went through the heater contols and everything appears to be working as it should, no vacuum leaks dampers open and close, vacuum at the water valve when it is suposed to close. I will have to warm it up and see if the valve is faulty. not sure what else to check before the dash goes back. I wired a USB plug insde the ashtray to charge whatever. Just picked up seat relocation plates that I had cut locally, need to drill and tap some holes and paint. -

Hi Aaron Couldn't get a socket on the mirror, ended up with a custom bent wrench. am I being too picky on the fender fillers? it fits nice on the inner frame buts drops off as it goes outward. were yours the same? thanks Grant -

I will start with the mirror, How do you tighten the rear nut on the mirror without cutting out the inner sructure? I spent quite awhile and a few choice words getting flat washer, lock washer and nut on it but can't get a wrench on it to tighten. Was thinking of picking up a 7/16 crow foot and try that? The other problem today was went to install the lower fender shields from the parts place and they do not fit very well, afraid they will break if I bolt them in as they are. Do you heat them to reshape or slot the holes? any help would be great thanks Grant -

I sent Shiftworks a picture of the packaging and they said they need it that large to be able to place all the shipping documents. I still think you could source stick on evelopes smaller than 5x11 but maybe that is the size customs wants. -
thanks all, my rant is over

UPS update, door bell rang this morning so, flat out race to the door, another ups sticker, didn't stop to rear flew out the door and down to driveway into the UPS side door. her first mistake, should have closed and locked the side door. She says she has a c.o.d. parcel for me, I said great let me pay for it--- but no I can't they don't have a machine and won't tke cash??? But she offers to show me the package and it is the one I paid last Friday so back in the house for my payment confirmation, She did wait and I now have the parcel. How about some dancing bananas!!!!!!!

yes, got it from Shiftworks, just arrived, shipping to Canada was ugly, $28.00 plus $16.00 brokerage and handling. here is a picture of the box. Smaller packaging might have helped. -

yup, sounds right. Pulled mine out to add a bluetooth controller and it won't be going back in. -
Just recieved another shipment from UPS can't totally blame them for this one was only $28.00 shipping plus another $16.00 brokerage and handling and have a look at the packaging from Shiftworks.

I hope UPS works better in the US than it does in Canada! Just had a parts shipment today, the UPS driver stuck some papers on my front door rang the door bell and ran. I answered the door but he didn't stop. Paperwork says I can pay the driver duty and brokerage and taxes but he is gone and wrote across it to pay on line and pick up my shipment at their office Monday. So, I have paid $55.00 to UPS for a $180.00 order and now have to drive an hour to pick it up!!!!!!!!!! I am so angry I will never use UPS again. Sorry, had to vent somewhere.

Bead blasted and repainted the back, cleaned up the guages, cleaned and repaired the clock, polished the sratches on the plastic lens. Waiting for a volt gauge to replace the amp guage and a new tach ( old one was sticking).

There is also an AC spray sealant that lubricates and seals, also works as a thread lubricant. I can send you a picture of the can if interested

Working on the instrument panel and found a small break in the printed circut. I found a roll of copper tape my wife used for stained glass years ago and found it worked quite well so thought I would share. Also got the clock working, had a burnt winding coil, had a spare so all seem well, test it for a while before it goes back in.
