I really like what you did with the compressor and your control panel looks amazing. You sure do have an attention to detail. I’m unfamiliar with Cerakote. Guess I’ll have to Google it.

It’s funny because Amazon had them listed for about that price 3 weeks ago, now it’s up about $35. Although the shipping was free so it may be a wash if the Tire Rack is charging for shipping. Both Amazon and Summit were showing 24-131506 as a part number for the fronts. I’ll have to check into that.

Sorry for such a late response. I was at a memorial for my sister-in-law. It looks like James, Scott and Joe got you taken care of. I chose the Bilsteins based on Joes recommendation. The 2” drop coils seem like the way to go to offset the lighter engine combo. You may want to check the spring rate with the factory rate. Because your engine combo is now lighter you may not get the 2” drop.

Remove the shocks and see how it sits. You’re probably looking at springs also. After some member input (thanks Joe) I’m ordering a set of Bilsteins. They are on the high side of the price scale though. About $390 for 4 on Amazon + tax. There are others for 1/2 the price.

The car looks good. Under hood is a little crusty but probably not a big deal to clean up. Hopefully more photos are available because it’s hard to bid on something with such limited photos. Can’t have too many photos.

I found it interesting that the LS6 was showing to be a COPO option, and only for 71. That must have been early info before GM apparently pulled the plug on it. After all, they only put 188 of them in the 71 Corvette.

After receiving “ETA pending” since I placed an order in September for a square key blank, I just got an ETA of 4/27. I never cancelled because it’s not something I had to have. Just wanted see how long it would be back ordered.

Im on Hagertys mailing list of automotive news. They did an article titled 5 classics defying a soft market. 73-77 Montes were on that list and are up 24%.

I see they’re discontinuing the Hilborn line. Another piece of history going by the wayside.

I would definitely address the cable adjustment/replacement first. That may correct the collar position on the steering column. Also make sure the nylon bushing that supports the other end of the linkage arm that runs from the transmission shifter shaft to the support attached to the frame is not worn or maybe even missing.

Not sure about Flint, but the Van Nuys plant would do their change over in July/August. By late September Flint was on strike, with other plants following suit by the end of October and ending sometime in January.

Sounds to me like it’s the one, as Rob said that mounts to the.AC plenum and not that carbon canister mounted on the drivers side next to the radiator.

The cups on my 69 Camaro were pretty butchered from an aftermarket radio that I was replacing with a stock Delco. I made new cups using pvc pipe caps. Before shaving off the old cups I measured their depth and trimmed the pvc to the same. I used JB Weld to bond them and also to create a gusset around the perimeter of the cap at the bonding surface. I then blended the inside of the caps with a Dremmel to blend seamlessly with the knob opening in the dash and resprayed everything with satin black. That was 23 years ago.

Watch out for those chimneys.
