  1. I screen shot this from one of Joes sources.
  2. The other thing I’ve noticed is the amount of vehicles listed in Hemmings that are dealer sales. I tried to find some percentages but it appears to be at least 75-80%. How many are consignment I don’t know, but they must have buyers at auctions. Otherwise where are they getting them from. It seems endless. One dealer I noticed (beginning with the letter V) asks top dollar, and it makes me wonder who’s buying these things? I know Barrett saves the real high dollar stuff for the prime time viewing. I guess to the investors it’s no different than playing the stock markets. So many of the vehicles seem to be on a revolving tour of the auction houses.
  3. Some of my water is about 2 years old. Still crystal clear. Wasn’t aware of a specific antifreeze for aluminum though.
  4. That’s what I do. I think I have about 10 gallons. Walmart carries it for about a buck a gallon.
  5. I’m on a well also. I have a whole house filter and a softener. Water from softeners using salt is not recommended for irrigation do to high salt content. I’m forced to use potassium in mine ($35/50lb. verses about $7/50lb. for salt) because when we built our house the plumber hooked all my hose bibs to the softener instead of just the one in front of my garage like I asked. So my water has a higher concentration of potassium, which the plants like, but not going to use it in my vehicles. Ron’s comment about salt water made me bring this up.
  6. Would like some members opinion on this. I’ve been using distilled water in my coolant mix in my 69 Z/28 mainly because of the aluminum intake since 98. Also in my 64 Buick Special Deluxe with the factory cast iron 300ci. with factory aluminum heads, intake and water pump. I’ve been doing this mainly to decrease mineral deposits and corrosion. For some reason I decided to google it and read opinions from people that swear by it to one from a Rislone chemist saying It will totally destroy the cooling system. What are you using In your systems?
  7. That’s why the yearly is so important. If it starts to creep up they can test again, and come up with a plan if they see a pattern. Mine shot to 12.6. The needle biopsy took 12 cores and found cancer in 3. 2 had a Gleason score of 3+4 and 1 scored a 3+3. Not real bad numbers but still cancer. I opted for a 28 day regiment of radiation treatments. After about 5 months they did another PSA. Came in less than 0.1. 6 months later it was 0.1. So It came up slightly, which the urologist expected. I’ll be getting a PSA every 6 months now for awhile. If the numbers are acceptable they’ll be every year.
  8. As Rob said, I’ve heard similar opinions. If started they should be driven at least 20-30 minutes to be brought up to temp before shutting down. Being in California I’d imagine your winters are maybe 4+ months. I know some have a pre storage protocol but I’ve had cars sit longer than that and not had any issues. Anything that’s not a daily driver has a trickle charger.
  9. Been using Valvoline ATF since the Dexron days before Dexron 2. Now it’s Dex/Merc. Never had any issues, it’s always worked for me. Use their motor oil also.

    Funny

I have never heard the term “dry gas” before so I googled it and now I understand why. Not much use for it in Southern California.
  11. If it’s what I think it is, you’ll spend more time in the room waiting for the urologist than the actual procedure, which is about 10 minutes. Hoping you score a big zero Steve.
  12. Definitely plastic. Interesting that the motor is only $9 more with the fan. Claims to be an ACDelco unit that works with or without AC. Then below it they list a fan only, metal, noted without AC. Obviously not an ACDelco fan or they would’ve said so. What would be the difference between AC+non AC?
  13. Yes, with 2 32oz. drinks and a good bump in the road, I could see the ash tray breaking right off the dash.
  14. Yes, thanks for the post. The original Batmobile is still the best.
  15. Nice job in having the best of both worlds. As Dennis said, couldn’t build it for that. Would’ve been nice to see the underside. Don’t care for the location of the ECU, or maybe it’s the brain for the digital dash is though. The sail panel and part of the headliner on the drivers side could use some attention also.
  16. Well said.
  17. My own post prompted me to do a little research. Apparently it’s quite expensive and some of the comments weren’t too good. Sorry
  18. Just wanted to throw this out there. Research Extrude Hone. It’s a process of forcing an abrasive material through the manifold to smooth out the interior and improve flow. Not sure of the cost or how much benefit is accomplished. Maybe Joe or someone here has had some experience with it.
  19. I remember in the late 60s and early 70s the first, second and third stage smog alerts at school. The smog was terrible. It wasn’t long after when they started using the CATs that it cleared up considerably. My biology teacher said that do to the CATs we would eventually have increased rainfall. That never happened. Then in the 80s it was global cooling and heading into another ice age. Then in the mid to late 90s it was global warming. Now to cover all the bases it’s just climate change. They’re either lying to us, or they just don’t know. In the end, it always seems to be about money and control. They’ll have to forgive me for having reservations about anything they tell us.
  20. It’s now as a make offer. Asking 18k + 5% buyers premium.
  21. It’s funny you mentioned the gas tax. They haven’t officially addressed that issue regarding EVs. Which surprises me because California is always looking for ways to put their hand in your pocket. EVs should share the burden of road maintenance though. There’s talk about taxing by mile. That would mean, as Scott eluded to, big brother tracking your miles.
  22. Looking at where the reserve meter is, it must be around 20k.
  23. They put the cart before the horse 🐎 in most of their decisions. I wouldn’t trust them to manage a gum ball machine.
  24. It says the listing no longer exists
