Welcome Hendrik Schuster !! All the way from Germany! We do have a few members in and around your country. Boy, it would break great if you bumped into "Wheel" (one of our older members here), just can't remember what country he's from. Oh well, great to see that we are mentioned there. And Welcome to all the newest members!! Great to see you joined the FGMCC! Best $#@* $25 you'll ever spend!

Happy Father's Day!! We just......... go out for ice cream in the Monte today. So far since the exhaust work,I've replaced both of the e-brake cables ,intermediate and hard line from the pedal. Ready for inspection. I see one of my exhaust tips is lower on one side . May have to take it back for an "adjustment". Otherwise, just some more shake down runs before the road trip to Carlisle!

Sorry to hear this bad news. Family always first. Thoughts and prayers going out to the family. Hopefully we will get to see you in Syracuse. I'm hoping that I make that show. -
Anytime you can get time on a dyno is like eating ice cream.... Awesome! Go for it!! That way, drop it back in, fire it up and ready to go! I'm going to do a chassis dyno with mine. Just waiting on the right time. It's all timing with these guys. Always busy. I'll get my chance, could be after the summer.

Just lettin' everyone know, looking at weather for the week/weekend in Carlisle, it's going to be great for ducks during the week and a scorcher on Friday(88 deg.) ,and Saturday(87 deg.). Let's just hope the forecast stays that way. Don't need liquid sunshine,I think we've had enough already.

You would think they would send you a template to make it fit the 1st time in the car..... ๐ค Hate when that happens! This is a non-A/C car ,correct?

I used the jute all new ,all over the floor, Then added Dynamat from just behind the front buckets to the back panel of the rear seat. Also on the sides where the interior panels go (over wheel well),down side braces. I made a back panel from 3/16" fiber board. That was 19yrs ago.

Remember Dennis, "work smarter, not harder"! And make sure you have plenty of room around you to get out of the way, if something is ready to fall on you. Do you remember an engine stand incident that I had ? wrist is still not 100 percent.

Welcome to the FGMCC! Nice looking Monte ! I know it's a 1st Gen, but what year? That will look great for the Cruisin' the Coast this fall for sure. We need to hear the story as to how and where you "found " it.

Dennis, I'm sorry for that finger hurting...... I gotta say it, "I'm just glad it wasn't another 2x4 !! "

A 2,800 stall converter will live happy with that cam and gear ratio. It probably has very little vacuum too. Your power disc brakes will need a vacuum pump to operate correctly. Leeds Brakes has what you need. Rumpity,Rumpity goes that cam! Back in the day we built a SBC for a Vega (similar to your set-up).Lunati cam .500" lift ,300deg. duration, Turbo 350,4:10 12 bolt Posi (used complete Don Hardy kit in car). That was blast to drive.

I'll try some spray 9 on it. Thanks Steve๐

His videos tell the stories about these 1st Gen Monte's. It takes a special talented person to get these back to perfection, he's one of them.๐

๐ค ...... If you're thinking of working on the frame on that deck, cool! I've seen the rooms full of parts and thought " no way would my wife approve" , But you should take the railings off , Before you move the frame to that spot! One step forward,3 steps back. Was this at your place?
-
Do you know/ have cam specs? That will tell what torque converter you need. Plus Turbo 350/400 trans?
-
Can you patch it with a '69 Chevelle tail panel?
-
Ditto on keeping an eye on it. I'd drive it about 25-50 miles, around town, on the highway. Then just recheck that side for being tight on the spindle nut. There is nothing "riding" on that area. It probably was turned to the lower limit on the dia." specs.

'72 , 4 pin connector neutral safety switch.
-
Once these start ,is there anything to correct it? Mine is starting to "feel" sticky. It's the 4 spoke style.
-
I know that I replaced the neutral safety switch when I could not get it to start. That's after I replaced the starter. Live and learn.
