Clint , It would be much better to replace the top with a new one. It will look so much better. Lutty's has them along with C.A.R.S. Inc., or the parts place. just make sure whoever "lays it on" that they make it fit like the old one. Like the picture you took, seam lines up with the rear deck crease. I've had mine on since '08, still looks good!

I had heard this on the news, late last night. I didn't know which part of the city got hit hard. Man ,some storm. That's a good size tree uprooted for sure! Lots of damage in your area? Our area drive-in (only one around anymore, Elmira Drive-in ), got torn down by that same storm. We had 50 mph winds, and only lasted 25 minutes. Glad your ok!

I think we should, it's green and it could be a clone!

Nope. Battery cable and large wire to center stud. Starter relay wire to the inside closest to block. If your using coil then that wire goes to outside stud.

Would/could you use the bucket seat brackets they sell for the bucket seat install? They are a weld in floor bracket. Lutty's has them.

alway's the best way to go for a sale! I'm sure that they are going to like it, being a good working car as it should be. If I had the room, Id have more than just one!!

Let it sit on it for a few minutes. Dawn dish soap does wonders!

Looks to me that the rear fuel tank is leaking. Not too bad for being that old of a build. 6-8 miles per smiles? It's got air, power steering, good tires. I will keep a look out to what tit goes for. Going for big $$ ?

Yes, I really like how it all came together after those inner fenders went in. The BBC on the other hand, was a bit more of a struggle with all the "mods" ($$), to make everything fit.

The newer style steel (manufacturer), are a lot better as for fit now. I have steel in mine and have for (17yrs). Just took them out for painting (color match ). I like them because they give the front end a little more stability. It had plastic before and those didn't fit good at all. I guess those have come a long way also as to fitting.

Wanted : 1970 Rear Defogger Wanted
420ponies replied to Joselk1's topic in Cars and Parts For Sale/Wanted
I'm thinking you're looking for a dash instead of a defogger? I'm looking for a defogger grille ,the plastic (black) one . mine is all cracked and broken.Wish someone could 3D print one. -
Now that was fun to watch! I have a '40 Buick coupe (same body style) ,that I'd like to build for drag and drive.

On my BBC swap I had to buy tractor weights and apply them to the back of the crane. It extended out to the very last hole, but was tipsy. Added 190lbs, all good.No transmission on the back though. I pulled my sbc trans and all with some "borrowed" weights."course the hood was off it then. You might try a '97 Tahoe starter. That's what is on the BBC. Smaller and turns the motor over quickly.

Did that back in the 80's ('68 Shelby ,428 mid rise), that was good day in the shop. Plus ,we got to test it out o na back road and man that was fun! The owner let me drive it. Then came his'74 Detamaso, That was quite interesting with a Cleveland. We had to go through the whole car. Master cylinder, brakes, clutch, rear u-joints, tune -up ,carb. Once done , that car was killer!

Happy Easter everyone ! Well, The grandson stayed the night and that pesky rabbit was all over the house hiding presents in the boys favorite hide and seek spots. Was up at 6:30am, over by 6:45am, now playing with the stuff he left. He got a giant water gun, guess I'm getting soaked this summer!

I'm diggin' those slotted mags! What brand are they? Looks to me someone added that top piece on the rear seat. I wonder if C.A.R.S. incorp. has that material. Legendary maybe? Looks like C.A.R.S. incorp. has the material in bulk (by the yard). $109.00 a yard. You would have to find out from them how much is needed. A good upholstery shop could help you out too.

Can you believe the difference that one item does to the tuning of a motor? I'd like to know what your timing is set at now.

Well..... It's an SS too boot! Very Nice!🙂

Don't you hate when that happens ?

Does it have "Custom " emblems ?

I'm optimistic, I believe we are coming out of the woods as far as this weather pattern in Upstate New York. We do need a little more rain here to get that nasty salt dust off the roads . I'm wanting to get my car out and fix the Exhaust !

True Slap floor shifter detent plates
420ponies replied to overdrive's topic in Cars and Parts For Sale/Wanted
Dan, I'm just itching to get mine out on the road so I can get a smile from ear to ear on how it's going to work. I'm hoping it's like back in the day drag racing my 10.50 second '68 Firebird super pro race car. Had a B&M super shifter? in it. Worked just like this one. All I know is, it shifts great on jackstands!! Soon......real soon, going to drive it to the exhaust shop for the new BBC manifolds to the exhaust dumps work. Then I'm testing it!🙂 -
It seems these are a "hard find" these days. Jared, I'm in for a set when you have them.
