Adirondack Nationals in Lake George, NY
cny first gen 71 replied to FrankOC's topic in Local Cruises and Events
Very nice, have fun. I see Syracuse nationals has a booth there too. -
They are definitely brighter. But just remember to take your sun glasses off . I was coming back from a show one time and was just dusk so turned headlights on as it got a bit darker i was having trouble seeing my buddy was with me he said I can see fine. Got all the way home and then realized I still had my sunglasses on, he didn't tell me either 😅 so now I always make sure. I've had them in there at least 12 years and haven't had to change them yet. Probably only used them a dozen times since I got the car 18 years ago.

On mine i just put in regular halogen sealed beam, brighter than oem bulbs. I really don't drive mine at night very often, very seldom for that matter.

Black for sure, red would stand out to much in my opinion. -

Should be able to run 255/60/15 all the way around if you want possibly 275/60/15 on rear -
Dual Diaphragm vs. Single Brake Booster Opinions
cny first gen 71 replied to curtish57's topic in Brakes and Suspension Tech
Sounds like master cylinder going bad. To test booster with car shut off pump the pedal up until it's hard then start car with your foot on pedal it should drop down a little bit. If you hold very light pressure on pedal like you say maybe sitting at a light if it fades it's probably master cylinder, if you hold more pressure it probably won't fade. Rear seal is probably starting to seap. If you change it use only NEW master cylinder not rebuilt. -
Was watching some racing and saw that he died August 23. He was the founder of Lucas oil products and built quite an empire for himself. He was 83 years old. Hopefully the company will live on much longer I use some of there products.

Where was yours built? Mine is a 20th May 1971 calf built car. Shipped to long beach and sold to a lady in long beach. Was there at least 8 years that I know of.

Very nice, I think we would all like our cars to go to our children or grandchildren and hopefully they will be interested. Me and my grandson at his first Syracuse nationals, he's been to several now 😁 -
What did you do to your Monte Carlo today?
cny first gen 71 replied to Canuck's topic in General 70-72 Monte Carlo Forum
Glad your doing better! -
Cold and snow for the north east I sure hope they are way wrong, as most of the weather people are.

Did i pay too much to get what I wanted?
cny first gen 71 replied to Marks71's topic in General Tech
Pretty sure I don't 😅 -
Yes 3/4 and 5/8 are what you will need. I believe someone out there makes factory correct hoses but not sure who. I replaced my water pump a few years with a new pump not a remanufacured unit looks factory correct. If I remember correctly I got it at a local parts store.

If your comfortable with what you paid and what you got is what you want then you didn't pay to much. Of course you're going to have to put some more into it to make it yours but that's normal. Congratulations on your purchase. -

I went out with a girl one time I told her my priorities were my daughter my dog and my car. I don't understand why that relationship didn't last long 😅 she's gone my daughter is happily married my dogs time on earth is gone 🥲 and I still have my car so life is good 😄 but I have seen the fins on water pumps rot away so it may not be pumping correctly. -
Yea dogs, cars squirrels and mice love the taste of anti freeze unfortunately it's not good for them. Well at least the dogs and cats the mice and squirrels can have all they want.

I always keep an extra quart of all fluids in the trunk just in case. Luckily my truck don't use any oil between changes but I do still check it. -
I think what has been used is from 75-79 maybe nova from what I've heard. Joe did it on his he will know. Mine is just a tank that sits out in the open. It works for now.

Lesson Learned...And Of Course...A Question

I don't remember mine having them in there. I did put new burlap and also used canvas on them too. I did put extra springs in drivers side front seat too, that helped a lot. I did think the Chevelle frames were the same though. Hog rings are a real pain get a good set of hog ring plyers not a cheep set. -
I think it depends in the wheels, I have 8 inch on mine with 5 inch back space no problems at all. There have been several discussions about wheels and fit but not sure where they are someone else may chime in on it to help more. I guess there is a wheel calculator somewhere too not sure where.
