Rob I have been a member since the year 2000. Can you change my member tag on the forums from +10 years to +20 years.
Thanks Carl Hanson from Port St Lucie, Florida
Thanks Jim. I knew I was missing something. You jumped started my memory. I know I have those 2 PCs that go into the housing.
Im coming up to Connecticut to empty my storage container 1st week of April. I’m sure those PCs are there. Still putting my Monte back together. Making good progress, but missing a lot of key parts. Do you need any parts? Let me know. Thanks again.
Does anyone have a picture of the license plate light with fiber optic.
I need to know the size of the hole in the housing.
The brass grommet and the rubber boot that covers it. I do have those two pcs. I really need to know if a rubber pc goes in the hole.
I want to thank everybody who posted on this subject. All the info helped this old guy at 76 because I did these things years ago so I just don’t remember a lot of things. I took my Monte apart which I didn’t need to. I will finish this project and can’t wait to do cruise nights once again.
The assembly book kinda shows the fiber optic at the upper bulb, I think I can put it at the lower bulb, just because I will have extra length on the cable. Both bulbs do signal flashing and it shouldn’t matter.
Left and Right tail lights have two bulbs. Do both bulbs blink or does just one bulb. Also where does the fiber optic plug in? Upper or lower bulb.
The fiber optic is on a 1970 Monte Carlo only.
I know shipping is high for a spoiler. If you can do a pickup go buy a 69 Camaro Spoiler it will fit the Monte with a little work. Buy the OEM one that is sold by Ground Up. Check it out.
Interstate has a nice black battery with side posts. I prefer the side post. I just bought a ACDelco side post battery from GM for $192.00 tax included.
It’s me Carl Hanson. I do have more but they are in storage in Connecticut. I’m going up from my home in Florida. I’ll post in for sale some time in April 2022. Cleaning out a 40’ steel container.
I just checked the assembly manual for a 71. I think my switch is installed right. The plunger is close to the A/C plenum because I installed a OEM A/C system. Heater Box should of been move a 1/4” to the right. I can trim the plunger. The assembly manual also tells you how to adjust the switch. It’s with the picture.
Charles I took a couple of pictures of my setup. I think my kick down bracket is incorrect. Check out my pic. It’s different from the way yours look. Maybe some other members can post pictures. I also posted a picture where my relay is. I think? My Monte never had this set up. I installed it my self.
Both if you can.The wires on the kick down inside the car are Orange and Tan. Bought it from year one years ago. Those wires go to the tranny. There is a Packard connector. I never thought it worked well.🥴
can you post two pictures showing the wires inside and in the engine compartment? I don’t have that TCS set up anymore.
They sell a plastic U pc with a hole that the oil gauge will fit in. Installs on the left windshield pillar cover. Comes with single hole or two or three. That’s where mine is going when I get to it. Might be made by Auto Meter. Not sure.
I’m thinking about making a switch to a EFI system. 350 SB 600 Carter 4 Barrel Proformer Intake Sq Bore. Might be off a little on the carb.
I also want to use a OEM fuel tank. I’m willing to shell out over $400 for the new sending unit. Need recommendations.
Thanks, Carl
