  1. Replying to the fiber optics. I know a 71 Monte never had them.Only 1970 had that system. But I’m different. I thought that system was way before it’s time. Cool option. All parts are oem except the lenses in the front fender vigilites.
  2. 2 YR storage at my cousins non working body shop. Being transported between 25-29 Sept. Enclosed Trailer. Goin to my new home in Port St Lucie. Trying to get things done. Like hanging that dash. Plus stuffing parts everywhere in the Monte. Enjoy the pictures.
  3. RIP Josh. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
  4. I need help on reconnecting my horse shoe oem shifter. Did this years ago. Don’t remember the hookup. Seems shifter cable won’t push forward to drop it in the U bracket and seems I’m missing the two cable clips. Need to look for them. I found instructions on installing but I thought if I just removed the whole shifter that it would go back in easy. Do I leave the tranny in neutral or park. Do I need to pin the neutral safety switch I thought if I had already done that when I did the original install
  5. I bought them years ago from OPG when I was in California. Can any one show a picture on the car? I don’t remember them where you are showing them in the first picture. I think the window glass lays on them? Yes or No?
  6. Thanks Joe as always. I’m getting a 4 post lift and its a Advantage 9,000 used. From a friend of mine. My Monte is still in Connecticut. Long story. The ramps are set at 75” os to os. I should be okay. Thanks again my tires are 245/60/15 on 8x15 rally wheels. I think they have a 4” or 4 1/2” backspace
  7. Can you measure yours for me. That would be close enough for me. Thanks
  8. Can someone measure the width of the front tires which would be from the outside of the tires. Should be around 70” + Thanks
  9. I always had a donor Monte in my driveway. That is how I restored my 71.
  10. Thanks for the reply Mike. I wished the new steel one would have the scoop sized appropriate to the hood length. It doesn’t. I might buy the glass scoop and put it on a spare hood that I have.
  11. Sorry for your problem. You should be able to find all the parts you need. Where did you get your glass hood? Looks like a real nice fit.
  12. Do they really have them in stock?
  13. I remember back then that GM used some rears that went in Buick’s. There was a shortage. I know my friend has that same rear in his 70 Monte. Clips instead of bolts.
  14. That’s what I thought. I have some after market tips that have the rolled edge. I think. The pipe diameter is too small. I always used to ask the vendors at swap meets to repro them. No luck with that. They all say the rolled edge is too hard to make. I think they would sell a ton of them.I love the look.
  15. Jeff where did you find your exhaust tips with that rolled edge?
  16. My 71 is in storage. This is my 2006 MC.
  17. He said the electric green button does work. Buy a new lock and have a lock smith re key the new one so you can use your old key.
  18. How about blow in insulation. LOL
  19. I’ll take one. Thanks
  20. I bought mine for $89.00 from 3000 toys. They are now $99.00

    New Guy Here

See. I’ve been telling everyone that 1970 hinges and springs are the way to go to hold that 6’ hood up.
  22. Was your body off? Can I get it in from underneath? I’m not planning on taking the body off and that’s why I want to use the 3 pc.
  23. Any chance in giving me the two hole dimensions that I had posted?
  24. You are the MAN. Great work on your Monte. I give you a lot of credit. The body lines are absolutely perfect. Excellent paint. I have a question on the rear trunk upper hockey moldings? Are the GM NOS, GM rechrome or are the moldings from the Parts Place? I’m sure it’s too late but I would really like to know the measurement of the two holes in the rear taillight housings in the picture you posted from right to left. Thanks, Carl
  25. Make new sail panels out of 1/16” ABS plastic. Glue holds much better.
