I have a Desert Sand 1970 Monte sitting in front of one of my garage doors. Had it for years. Was going to be my second restore but never got to it. Has Gold interior.

I have that NK-2 wheel in storage> Nice condition but real sticky in your hand. I have used GOOP SOAP in the past to unstick it. Does do the trick but does not last real long.
Any other ways to get a permanent fix?
Carl
I didn't receive mine yet. I will up date when I do.
Question to Mike. When you tested the float was it with you wipers running. Mine I remember only worked when the wipers were on.
Carl
Doug. Check down on this Restores page and you will find this topic "Red Paint On 71-72 Tail Light Bezels" The correct paint is Dupli-Color Red Metalcast. It comes in a spray can and it's transparent. Vaughn gave me a heads up about it. I'm sure you will be pleased.

All GM bottles have a center punch mark on them and I believe it is a 3/4" hole. Don't know if repop ones have it.
Yes that tube does come out but be real careful. Spray it with WD 40 and a slight pry with a plastic 2017 pry bar. Don't use a screw driver.
I can't remember the answer of 3 and 4.

Sorry. I forgot the dash pad covers the rivets. You would need to slide the cover towards you. The rivets look like a sun flower. If they are regular pop rivets that will tell you that it was removed at one time and replaced. Or it was from an other monte.
Carl
Any luck yet on a replacement? I know a 87 Monte with A/C fits in the A/C box round hole. I'm not sure on the depth yet. I will in a couple of days.
Carl
Good job Vaughn. You have it right. I never mentioned that the Red is transparent. I will pick that up. One more question. Are the bars painted on 3 sides or just the top. I think 3 sides. Thanks to everyone that helped in this. Did you spray or brush it?
