  1. They first came out from Dixie Monte Carlo. I posted the info in new products on our web site. They still have them but changed their name to Dixie Restoration. They are located in Manchester, Connecticut. Carl
  2. Yes.
  3. Thanks. Not looking for the original battery. Just the series 78. I would prefer a AC Delco battery. I have the battery topper I will put on it.
  4. Trying to make a decision on a new AC Delco Battery. I used to buy the 78-5YR but seems to be discontinued. I'm looking at a AC Delco 78-AGM. Price is from 156.00 to 300.00 bucks. What the heck is up with these prices? Tires up, wheels up. so glad I did my resto years ago. Give me some AC Delco numbers if you guys have them. Carl

    71 SS

Can you give me information on your resonators? Where did you buy them?, Part number, price. the measurements. Would be appreciated. Thanks. Carl
  6. How about the spring? I'm sure the 70 spring is a larger diameter> let me know what you find on the difference of the springs. Carl
  7. Sorry. I was looking at the 71 hood spear in your picture.
  8. Try to find a set from a 70 Monte. They have a fatter spring and the hinge is heavier metal. I put a set on my 71 Monte and the hood stands up great and I have mirror stainless under the hood which makes the hood even heavier. Carl
  9. I Believe the Malibu 4 Door and Chevelle wagons will work. Carl
  10. Yes it does. My 71 Monte has a 3:31 Posi 10 bolt from a 71 Elcamino. Carl
  11. On top. You look a little short on the carpet.
  12. Thanks Paul. You put me on the right course. I found 6478175 @ 61" over at Rock Auto. Their part number is ATPY814 and its at $7.65. That GM number is listed. Thanks again. Carl
  13. Thanks. Can you check again to see if that fits Manual or Automatic? Or both.
  14. Can anyone tell me the length of the speedometer for a 71 MC with a 350 engine and a 400 transmission? Also the GM number would help. Thanks. Carl
  15. Are they chrome? In 1970 Chevy had a system that the chrome squinters where installed in the chrome headlight bezels. They where suppose to be used to clean your headlights. The option was dropped that same year. I know a lot of catalogs offer them for a Camaro that was a working option. Carl
  16. Okay I will take the advice and run the steel line that I have. Can I cut it in half and flare both ends and install a coupling to make it back up? Thanks Carl
  17. I want to change my old steel fuel line with neoprene with flex stainless from the fuel tank to the fuel pump. Has anyone done this and what kind of flex hose did you use? Carl
  18. I have always used Gates. You can get them at Rockauto.com
  19. Ebay. Just search Front fiber optic lense
  20. Who sells new ones???? Are they shown in the assembly book? Carl
  21. Okay. I just went down to the Archives in the basement. I have a 70 Monte and the whole interior is down there. This is what I found. 1970 Monte Heater Car with long visors. These visors were used for other GM cars. 1970 was the first production year for the Monte Carlo and they used parts from other GM cars to get them done. Then they changed it for 71 and 72. I personally like the longer visor and will continue to use them. Carl
  22. I think my memory is correct. 1970 Monte had the long ones and 71-72 have the short ones. It seems the 70 A/C Monte's have long ones. Someone needs to chime in to with a 70 with Heat only for the visor length. Carl
  23. I know they weren't a option. But there is no rime or reason. Do you think it was a production line choice. I also have the longer visors but I changed mine. My 71 was a heater car and had the shorter ones. Carl
  24. I'm trying to remember this answer. Our Monte's came with two different Sun Visors. A long type that connects to the inside mirror and a shorter version that just floats way before the mirror. I always thought the longer type was only in the 1970 models with A/C and the shorter version was in heater cars. But this didn't hold true in 71 and 72. Who knows???? Carl
