  1. Hey shoassales thanks for the compliment...the tires are mickey thompson sprtsman radials and measure 29x15-20..sorry no more pics avail at the moment....the tire was just placed there to see how it looks..I have now cut out 4 inches of the trunk to allow room..there will be1 1/2 from lip to tire and the same from tire to frame/wheelwell..it looks like I will be tubbing it..a little

  2. yesterday I made  the breath stealing cut to remove my pass. side 1/4 panel and made the matching cut on the new 1/4. and then made a paper template to mock removing 4" of trunk and floor pan on the inner wheel house to eventually fit my semi-fatty tires..today I took my kiddies to a local car show and got a great referral for getting my axle narrowed..great show and met a fellow member there too...although Larry (lost n found) was strangely not in attendance

  3. sort of on topic...has anyone ever re-covered their own dash pad???..getting one fixed up here is non existant unless I want the 8 hr round trip to leo's to buy one or sending to the states for a re-do

  4. Ahhh what a gorgeous weekend..took the kids camping in the back yard..copious amounts if coffee and bacon..got a 20 pack of cut-off disks..on sale...and NOW I will start my 1/4 panel work..burn 1 in and cut the other off ...SOOO envious of those that are rolling..even got a tear when I passed a 72 on the highway.....maybe for my 50th it'll be almost done

  5. Hey Rob...   Speaking of mini-tubs,  what is the stock wheel-well width.  I know that the PO replaced some pieces on my '72; it is 13 5/8" wide presently, is that factory width?

sounds about correct..just measured mine after fitting new trunk and 1/4 in..that is without the wheelwell though..the max tire that can go in there is just a tad over 12 though..there is a member here that trimmed the lip and has a hair clearence for his tires....try the tire database for more info

  6. Yes rob it is a bit punky in that spot..I am going to patch it due to the fact I already purchased my 1/4ers..the vinyl top  will cover it up anyhooo. and yes those are the 20's...15 wide so I will have to cut into that new trunk panel AGAIN..about 5-6 inches..just in case I want to go to 18's in the future..no mini tub full backhalf..my frame is as bad as the sail panel from the rear wheel back.in fact it broke in half at the body mount just past the rear wheel..I have welded it back in place
