  1. I am trying to put my 1970 402 big block back to as close to factory as possible. Problem 1 had the motor bored .030 over rebuilder put in pistons with a dome of .110 height (this was 25 years ago) i remember them the originals being a taller dome does anyone have a 1970 factory piston they can measure dome height on or where I can find exact duplicates? problem 2 I have a print out on the build book for 1970 monte it shows 2 different specs on factory cam shaft it shows the lift as .3983 for both intake and exhaust in another spot it show .430 for exhaust which is right and where can I get a cam as close to factory if the second spec is right? crane cams has a blue print .398 Thanks
  2. Take a look at Schaeffer oil. Oldest oil company in America , family owned and operated since 1839. Schaefferoil.com has TD Technical data sheets on all of the products,on the home page just click on the MSDS/TD Icon. Nothing to hide because they use the best oils, synthetics and addatives. Moly ( Molybdenum ) is in almost all of their lubricants IN HIGH ENOUGH CONCENTRATIONS TO GIVE ANTI-FRICTION gives better protection than zinc. Zinc is still used in the lubricants just like other oil company's just lower PPM (parts per mill.)compared to older formulations.Racing oils still have higher PPM. You can put in your zip code and get a phone number for the closest sales rep. They will meet with you and teach you the differences in lubricants become educated that is the best tool.you can order direct just like a parts store. Have done a lot of research on lubricants Schaeffers is the best lubricants for the money. The cost to use not the cost to buy.
  3. Amsterdam posted a link a while ago on a oil filter study, the link no longer works. Wondering if somebody has a copy of the study I can get Thanks
