I have the Eaton 19554-010, it is a series 3 (3.08- 3.90) Jegs has it for $489 and it looks like there is a $70 rebate from Eaton right now. I was told by the trans guy that I know that I would like this one better for street use, that it have less chatter than the Auburn. That was his opinion so I took it.

I went from a 2.73 stock gear non posi to a 3.73 posi. Yes you will need to change the carrier to make that big of a jump in ratio. Also after realizing that I did more driving roads that were 50+ mph I ended up dropping back to a 3.31 and my stock configuration 400 and I are both happier.

Replaced the broken power steering hose bracket/clamp. Gave it it's second oil change in in the last 19 years (2400 miles).

I over did it last year when I went to a 3.73:1 gear. So Thusrday I dropped back to a 3.31:1. Yesterday I pulled the right exhaust manifold and replaced the stove pipe tins. Today I am all about yard work.

WOW! You guys are an Encyclopedia of information. I learned a lot there. I had been waiting for some time now to look at a 69 Chevelle. I was told that it needed a front seat so I thought that I might be able to use a Monte front bench seat and the full set of new set of covers that I have. I finally got to see the car today and the seats as it turns out would be the least of my concerns. To much body work for me. But thanks everyone.

Does anyone know if the seats (front and rear) are interchangeable between these two cars ? Both cars came with bench front seats.

Such a nice day here (sunny and 42*) so I opened all garage doors and started it up just to hear it run. I even started my buddy's 67 Mustang. Sam says they taste like chicken, well this one must be fried chicken because now it will drip oil for two days. LOL

Yeah I guess there could be. I am looking for the weight of a non a/c, auto big block. Just a ball park number. I was hoping that someone might have weighed one for setting up a coil over.

Has anyone ever weighed just the front end of a stock big block car ? If so, what is it ?

So when I bought my car the guy told me that the clock worked but he had just pulled the fuse so it wouldn't sit there running for no reason. Well eventually I took a look at the fuse block and all of the fuses were in (I should have known because everything else worked) so I figured he was just saying that. I talked to him a month ago and sort of mentioned it, he said he might of pulled the wire, it was back in 94' and he wasnt sure. So the other night I decided to look into it and sure enough, blindly feeling up behind the dash I felt a loose wire and was able connect it, and it actually works. I took a quick video of it and unplugged it again.

Took the wife out for her birthday dinner in the Monte tonight. Probably the last ride of the year.

Keep your eye on the end of the rainbow Tony. It will be worth it.

He did well but with his newly found allergies and braces he gave the majority of it to his older sister.

That was a fun day. Nice meeting everyone. I made it back to the campground just in time for the evening activities. About the time we got to I-75 and M 15 "gen" light started peeking on while I was on the throttle and would go off when I let off. Guess that will be a post for "what did you do to your Monte today

Right now any excuse to take the car out is a good one , lunch or a show. No telling when the first white stuff will start to fall.
