Thanks sam I did replace the coil thinking it was bad there was no fire. That's were I noticed the wire smoking.

The wire going to the coil is smoking and the car will not start. This wire looks like its worn.

My 1970 has the gauges and tech,my foil is so old it is falling apart and the dash lights will not stay on. Are you sure this will work.
