    vacuum lines

Hey: The books that I have show two vac lines coming out of the firewall, the black one goes to manifold vac at the fitting behind the carb and the white line goes to the water valve. Since you see only one line coming thru, you may have to remove the radio to see this, look under the dash at the AC control for a line that goes from the three fitting vac switch to the multiple fitting vac switch. There should be a tee in that line that goes thru the firewall, this is the vac line that goes to the intake. Look at the three fitting vac switch, the middle fitting should have a vac line with a white tracer. This line should also go thru the firewall to the water valve. Maybe it goes thru in a different place? I had a 71 SS and it only had one line, if memory serves, and I do not remember what fed the water valve. However all of the books that I have still show two lines as above. Go figure. Hope this helps Ed

    Stolen SS 454

Hi: I have asked this before but I am trying again for all you newbies. I am looking for info on a 70 SS454 vin 138570B113727 which was stolen from me in northern NJ in 1989. It has a few weird options so that I think I would recognize the car if I ever saw it again. Any info will be appreciated. Thank You Ed
  6. Hi: That valve works on vacuum, and turns off the water to the heater core when vacuum is applied to it. With no vacuum water is free to flow thru the heater core. Hope this helps Ed

    rear end id

Hi: If that is the casting number the it should have the sides of the cover scalloped out. If this is the case the rear has 2:73 gears in it. It looks like an old GTO rear, because that is a Pontiac casting number. Your car also has only a 2 bbl carb on it originally too. Hope this helps Ed
