That is a retaining clip for the chrome piece between the door card and the arm rest base.

Go to your local automotive paint supply. Have them scan the paint on your car and they should be able to make up some touch up paint for you.

And now I know definitely that 72 has them also. Cool! Thank you.

Ok. My 72. Assembled picture didn’t turn out so I went to the pos70. 8 inch bracket goes from the middle of the core support to the top. Bolts on with two bolts. The fender tie bar bolts to the top of it and the bumper filler bolts to the bottom. There’s a speed nut attached to the bottom of the bracket for the extension. And I just realized I have no idea how to put this car back together. lol.
Ok, so now does the 72 have that bracket? 99% of our Montes are 70-71s so I can't say for sure. 70 -71 yes, have the brackets. Lol

I know inline tube and the parts place have what you need. Inline tube also has a complete parking brake kit that includes everything needed, should you decide to do so.

Great job Lyle! Keep the pics coming!

Like Joe stated that pump will work with a regulator.
I would also suggest 1/2" fuel line from the tank to the carb to feed the beast if you do not have that already.
Also a sump in the tank or the option I took for "Big Red" which is a 1/2" sending unit from RobMC that has an extension towards the back bumper. This way you can run a stock fuel tank.

Is the engine going to use a carburetor or fuel injection?
If carburetor, the blue pump will be fine.
If fuel injected, the blue pump will not work.

I believe he is looking for the screw that secures the housing to the bumper.
Those are the screws for the lens to the housing. Good to know they make those now.
I believe they are just a Philips head short screw for the housing to the bumper.

Okee dokey, as promised... The 3 that I purchased even though the top one is part of a 3 pen set.
The bottom one is basically silver. The middle and top are very chromelike. I chose the top one because the tip was flatter than the middle one that has a rounded tip on one side and a fine tip on the other. I'm sure very good for detail work.

So the correct color is chrome. Ok. I’ll get the pens. That my next step on the dash.
Yes, the dash was chrome plated and then painted to match the interior before the wood trim was installed at the factory.
The pens I purchased are over Kevin's. I will be there tomorrow and post a pic of the pen I liked with the others also.

Chrome Dennis. I purchased 3 different "chrome" paint pens to choose the best one.

First style is 70, the one with sticker is 71/72. Your dash looks great. Don’t know how I didn’t see it till now.
Agreed Dennis. I probably forgot about that detail long ago. Thought it's one of those little things for those who want to be 100% accurate.

Hello all. It's been a moment since I updated y'all.
Been doing a lot of wiring. No pics cause it's kinda boring. Lolol. Running wires, hiding wires etc.
I did change the inner structure of the glove box door due to the original starting to split and the door not sitting correctly. I checked "stock" and had one already off and ready to go. After a quick clean up I noticed it to be slightly different than the original 70. The 70 has 2 indentations for at the time, cans. The one used for a replacement does not have the indentations but a sticker on it. Under the sticker it is flat so the design changed obviously.

I believe there is a 5/16ish hex head screw that goes through the circuit board into the metal housing.

The ammeter is directly wired into the horn relay so the circuit board is not used. Sounds like a ground issue to the cluster/pod.

Big Red has a 496,.060 454 block, original 4 core radiator,7 blade fan with HD clutch and has no issues at all. Ask anyone that was at Carlisle this year. I drove it in traffic, highway, to town to eat, sat idling for a while and no issues.... Thank goodness. Lol

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Thomas and I will be hosting Kevin and his family. Keeping the family tradition going now that Mom is not with us anymore. December will be 1 yr.
Besides a 20 lb turkey we will be making, stuffing in the bird and stuffing without the bird, turkey gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, plain mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, corn, broccoli n cheese, cooked baby carrots, chicken cutlets (for those who don't like turkey), hot rolls and more. I'm full just writing this. Lolol
Again, Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy family, friends, and freedom!

Rear Disc Conversion-is the proportional valve really needed?
in Brakes and Suspension Tech
Posted
My son's 70 pro street Monte has 4 wheel disc, manual brakes. We slightly relocated the proportioning valve from its factory place while still using the factory style lines from inline tube. Made up the lines to the line lock and manual brake master.
