  2. you guys are crazy...lol MOnte70car..i ended up getting the Wilwood set up with enternal parking brake to match the wilwoods up front. the instructions said i could use the stock brake lines but that didnt work so bent up my own .
  3. if i flip the bolt around then the muffler is in the way and you cant put the bolt through the hole
  4. my cheap paitroit headers hang pretty even..it might be because they were for a different year Monte...
  5. does any one know the size of the rear brake lines...the hard lines that go to the rear wheels. i have to make some custom lines to make these brakes work and want to get the right size but cant seem to find the size any where?????????????????
  6. nah i dont have the guage to check back lash or the magnetic base and meter.. i wish i did tho...but i know the axles and theres barley any end play with the axles. i asked the guy about the mesh pattern and he tol me that he had to install and remove the carrier a few times to get it right so im hoping that where you see the perfect mesh is from the last time he installed and checked it...keeping fingers crossed....
  7. having this same issue with my exaust and new suspension parts..its not the rear sway bar but the lower control arm and brace bolt nut combo thats hitting jus one muffler. the idean I had to try and fix it was to got to a muffler shop and have the cut a v shaped piece out of the pipe and try to bend the muffler and pipe away a lil bit then reweld it back together...see how close those nuts are to the mufflers....smh...
  8. does this gear mesh patter look pretty good. i have a bad habit of checking other peoples work on my car.
  9. well i finally got my rear end back home from the shop getting a rebuild. Installed 33 spline tru trac carrier with 3:42 gears. now that its home i can install my rear disk brake set up and stick the new axles in their new home.....side note..its pretty hard to install new whel studs with out a press.....no to finish up the brakes and get her back under there.
  10. well guys thanks for all the tips..once i got started working from top to bottom..it wasnt that hard to do..after i sat in the car for almost an hour tryin to find the best most comfortable shifter location. i too ended up placing it towards the end of the trans hump. Yes i read in the instructions that one shift could kill the tranny if installed wrong..scared the hell outta me.. but heres what I came up with..now i jus have to build the center console around this beauty. i also cut the hole in the floor lower to keep the cable at the same angle...i also had to make a stand to keep the shifter level....welded it to the floor...no big deal since the console will hide it
  11. hey guys..ive heard this is a pretty straight forward install...but any tips or suggestions as ive never done this before. I bought a pro rachet b&m shifter and will spend this weekend installing it along with a few other things.....any and all tips are helpful
  12. i cant i need 33 spline cuz I bought a 33 spline tru trac carrier..thinking more spines meant more strength...but i found some 33 spline c clip axles made by nitro axles from a link earlier in this post
  13. yeah i understand that the rear is only like 30% of the braking power with the front doing the rest. yeah that would be great if you could do that...ill be up that way this weekend i belive and could grab them from ya if you get em.
  14. Ahhhh I didn't think about the parking brake....lol..yeah these fit behind my 15" rallys..so I might go with their rear set up also..and I was thinkin bout moving the parking brake lever to between the seats like on newer cars...hummmm time for more research
  15. ive ordered the wilwood brake set up for the fronthttp://www.summitracing.com/parts/wil-140-11290-r/applications/ and was thinking since I also want to do a rear disk conversion...was wondering..if i found the right brackets could i use my old front calipers on the rear?????
  16. how could the powder coater bend the frame like that.. you say that if you use your original equipment it all connects fine but the new one dosent?.. that would have to be a pretty hard drop to bend the frame...are they that flimsey????

  18. 5.5" back space on the rear with a 20" rim would fit????
  19. jus checked the site and they offer a 9.5 wide rim also so no im thinkin I could do a staggered look..hummmm
  20. i definately want them to tuck up under the fenders and i belive the widest they offer is an 8" wide rim. i dont want my car sittin all high in the air..i hate that look

  22. thinking bout getting these rims for my monte..what do you guys think?? thinking about goin 20"s all the way around but cant figure out a good back space for the rear wheels....i wan the deep dish look but dont wanna do any wheel well cuting if possible
