In 41 days and a wake-up the first members will start arriving in Carlisle.
You guessed it, that is six short weeks or only a month and a half from today.

Maybe if it was the last one on the planet ... Even so, it will take mega bucks and hours to make that one presentable. Sorry, I don't get it!
One can always dream.

PHOTOSHOPPED car put into picture to fool us into thinking it is really Dennis's ad

ALERT!!! ALERT!!! ALERT!!! It looks as though someone has hi-jacked to the screen of Dennis T. Everyone here knows if you don't see the toes of a pair of slippers or shoes in a picture it wasn't taken by Dennis.
Just kidding it's a legit ad.

That would have been a coincidence if they were sold at the same dealership Rob. How far apart are the vin numbers?
In reality Vaughn they were quite different. Yours is a 71 and mine is a 70. The original build date for mine is the last week in June of 1970 so they are about a year apart.

Mark,
If I am not mistaken the pre-registration for the Carlisle Events closes after Monday. I think then within a few weeks we start receiving our gate passes in the mail.

Vaughn, when I first looked at your build sheet I thought it came from the same dealership as my Monte so I had to look at my build sheet. Mine was also a Baltimore plant but it went to Gilbert Chevrolet rather than Gearhart Chevrolet. Yes, it is neat he lived on Monte Ave..

Hey Rob...
No, the one I was trying to load is a collection of video clips highlighting the "bridesmaids" to popular hot rods.
The Monte SS was number 5 or 6. Just thought it was cool to see our cars making the cut.
I couldn't get yours to load and I found the link I posted while trying to search yours, it was nice to see the 70 Monte listed #2. Not sure what I feel about them listing the AMX as #1 though.

If you take the number 11 and multiply it by 4 your result will be the same as our 44 days and a wake-up until our members start arriving in Carlisle for our 25th Eastern Meet

In the link below the 70 Monte Carlo SS is the number 2. I don't think this is the same one you were trying to link to

When you say you are not able to see NEW messages I am not sure if you are talking about a Private Message someone has left for you or messages in the open boards, please try to be more specific.
Maybe this will help also.
When you go onto the club website. From the main page, when you click "Forums" it will take you to all of the available forums. Then you look down the line of forums, if there are any new posts in that forum it will show in BOLDER LETTERS the two little quote bubbles to the left of the forum identification will also be in heavy black rather than shadow gray
Once you go into one of the forums with the bold lettered forum, any of the topics in that forum that has a new comment to a post will have a heavy black dot or star indicating someone has responded to a post or it is a new topic.
If you read a particular post that you would like to respond to you can click on the (+) Quote under that post and the system will populate that persons post with an area where you can type your reply.
It is a learning process, you will catch on.

Beautiful Monte and that front plate really dressed it up even more. Looks like it arrived a day early.

Was car ordered without power steering?
I thought it came standard on Montes
Lyle,
That is what I gave always thought too but any car with "standard" equipment could be ordered with a "delete" on some of the standard equipment.

Thank you all for your kind words. I can’t wait to get her up and running again and cleaned up nice for the prom. Lol
Who are you talking to the prom. With a first gen Monte you should have no problem getting a fine young lady on your arm.

Our countdown is now at 48 days and a wake-up. In exactly 7 short weeks from today our first members will start arriving in Carlisle.

What did you do to your Monte Carlo today?

A couple weeks ago I replaced the spark plugs in preparation fir the Eastern Meet but didn't gave time to do the points and Condensor. Yesterday took it out to a friend's house and we installed the points and set the points, tach, dwell and timing.
Now, other than the main cleaning, all I need to do before leaving is to change the oil and the oil filter and air filter.
I'm not going to clean her until I arrive due to the crud we will pickup on the drive over.
