  1. Steve, it was great to talk to you yesterday.  I am glad you have become our newest dues paying member of the club.  Talking to you,  I am  impressed with your obvious positive attitude regarding your cancer treatment.  My thoughts and prayers are with you in your battle.

    Rob,

I'm interested in grabbing this room.  Planning on arriving either Thursday or Friday, leaving Sunday.

    Mark,

I tried to call you.  I left you a message on you phone if it is the same number I had from before.  I also left a text on that number.  If you did not get it shoot me a PM here with a good phone number to reach you or send me an email at rob29ford@aol.com

  3. Brant, Please answer the things I posted above, such as how long you have owned the car? did you inspect the car and drive the car prior to buying it?  exactly what is wrong with the engine?  if you didn't inspect or drive the car prior to buying it did you have someone else do this? how did you find this car?  have you talked to Jared to ask him what he knows about the car from when he owned it?  Is he the one who put the engine in it?

Yes, you should expect to get what you paid for but without more information I I would find it hard to accuse Scott of being a scammer.  It should always be a buyer beware when buying something on the internet especially if buying sight unseen.  I would suggest you contact Jared to find out everything he may have done to the car when he owned it.  Rather than coming here to post something negative about who you purchased the car from your time may be better spent considering legal action.  Many states have a "Lemon Law" when it comes to vehicles, that may be something you may want to look into also.

Calling him a scammer here is something you should not do without more proof.  I would also suggest speaking with a lawyer.

When I redid my 72 in 2013 I used and old bicycle inner tube in the metal before putting it on the glass. It was somewhat of a tight fit put it has held the molding in  place since that time. After I had it on the window I just cut the excess off with a razor blade

I have seen several people using Larry's suggestion.  There is also a part that some vendors sell for this purpose.  It makes a nice tight fit without using any sealant like silicone or something like this.

  5. Wayne, How long have you had this Monte?  How did you find this Monte, was it here on our site??  Did you see and drive the car before buying it?

If you didn't look at the car or drive it prior to purchasing it did you at least try to have someone look at it for you.  Many people here have asked you what you mean when the motor is "Toasted"  or Shot and you have not answered any of the questions about what is wrong with the motor.

Yes, Scott was a member here for one year and at that time it appears he did own the car you have purchased.

Since I don't know if anyone here knew him personally and we don't have any recently knowledge of the car we can not answer any questions about the car.  Jared would best be able to tell you if the engine that is currently in the car is what was in the car when he sold it and Jared could tell you what history he knows about it.  Jared would also be able to tell you about any work he had done on the car.

Without more information I I would find it hard to accuse Scott of being a scammer.

  7. 402 Monte's are very desirable and exciting to drive.  Go for it.  BTW I see this is your first post.  Welcome to the boards.  We hope you like what you see here and decide to become a dues paying member of the club.  Also, we love a lot of pictures so you are off to a good start.

  8. Cory, Welcome aboard the boards.  We hope you like what you see here and decide to become a dues paying member.  Yes, we would love to see you and your dad in Carlisle.  Since you are filled up on T-Bucket venue's maybe cancel one of them and join us in Carlisle.  You would not regret it.

  9. Welcome aboard the boards.  Your friend should also join the boards and become a dyes paying member of the club.

The items Dennis already mentioned are the most important books he could purchase.

In addition to those, if he could find a Chilton for it, that would be a bonus buy.

That white painted roof looks great over the Ascot Blue. If it's factory original, it would have been special ordered. The spec pack for 1971 shows the antique white top not available with the Ascot lower color. Ahh, the good old days when they'd let you have almost anything to nail the sale.

It is classic white over Astro Blue

I do agree with the statement but in reality the speed limit back then was 55 mph( correct me if I’m wrong Rob, you were in your late thirties early forties 😆😆). A lot of people cruised the interstates at 55 even if they had an SS car because of the lower gear ratios, my 70 SS has 2:56 gears.

So banana-man, what did I ever do to you?  rob

    :yay:
