  1. I'll Try but I am old and surely won't remember them all:

1929 Model A Ford Tudor Sedan Purchased 1966 at age 15. I fully restored this car and I still own this Model A Ford

1929 Model A Ford Tudor Sedan Purchased 1966 as a parts car

1929 Model A Ford Tudor Sedan Purchased for parts.  Took parts I wanted and replaced with parts from my first purchased one and then sold it to buy more parts.

1954 Studebaker Commander In 1966 (Wasn't really mine but a car given to my parents for my brother and I to drive.  It got t-boned by a guy in a brand new Buick, while my brother was driving it to work.  The Buick was totaled but my brother was able to continue on to work after the police left.

1959 VW Beetle  This car was passed down to me and my younger sister to drive after our older sister eloped and moved out.  I drove it up until the time I left for the US Air Force in November of 1968

1970 (First Year Of Monte)  Desert Sand Chevrolet Monte Carlo.  My first NEW Car.  I sold it when the transmission started to slip around (the buyer knew about the tranny issues.  I sold it to buy my next car.  I needed a dependable vehicle to tow my Model A Ford from Jacksonville, FL to Pittsburgh.

1976 Olds Cutlass Supreme.   I bought it used with a full warranty.  We used it to tow the  Model A Ford from Jacksonville to Pittsburgh... The transmission it the  Cutlass went bad 10 miles from  Pittsburgh but the warranty covered the repairs.

1980 Chevrolet (First Year ) Citation 6 Cyl High Output hatch back with rally wheels.  (the most versatile car we ever owned.  Way too much power and we loved that car.

1983 Cutlas Ciera Diesel.  Bought it new when we traded in our Chevy Citation

1985 Chevrolet S-10 Trail Blazer  Bought it new

    1995 Chevrolet S-10 Trail Blazer

    2005 Chevy Impala

2009 VW Jetta (In my name but it was Patsy's car)

    2013  Chevrolet Captiva Crossover SUV

2017 GMC Terrain Denali   Current Vehicle

2023 VW Jetta (in both of our names but it is Patsy's Car)

From 1973 to when I retired I had many company cars in my name but they belonged to the company.  There is no way I could remember all of them.  Some of them are more memorable than others either for good reasons or bad reasons.  1974 AMC Ambassador was my first one and boy was it a POS.  The day I picked it up I turned right out of the dealer parking lot, went about 1/4 mile and turned right again.  My next turn was supposed to be a left turn but the car would not turn left, only straight or right turns. It did not last long because within 2 years it started to rust away to the point it would  not pass state inspection.  It was too late in the year to order another company car (They usually only ordered 4 door model cars but they had to see what was available on dealer lots and they came up with a Cutla1976 Cutlass S with a 350 4 brl and posi-rear end, it was a beast.  My next one was a Pontiac 6000 followed by a 1982 Buick Skylark followed by a Ford Taurus (That car got hit in the middle of the night parked in front of our house.  It was hit so hard it pushed it across the sidewalk and into our hedges.  (when I got it back from being fixed we found I had an extra 4 inches in the trunk, front to back because the metal behind the back seat was pushed forward that much..  That was all of the cars I had and after that they switched to vans and I had too many of them to remember each of them.

  2. First one like that I have ever seen also.  The only thing I could think is it was a late 71 dash and maybe they had started making them like that for the 72 or it came from an early 72 before they started installing the seat belt light and it was easily punched out.  Either that or it was a replacement panel that was set up like so it could be used as a replacement for any year.

Me either but even a squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

That's true but it is much harder for a blind squirrel to find one..  😕

  5. With the number of members we have registered already someone asked me if I had any idea what the attendance for the Saturday evening Award Dinner would be.

I counted up all of our members and guests and if we were to hold that Awards Dinner today and every member and their guest attended there would be 135 people at that dinner.  We will easily fit our group Award Dinner in the vendor food court area.

They look good. But I have to ask, just out of curiosity, why are you posting this in the archive section and on a nine year old post. Wouldn’t you be best suited to put this in the current restoration section?  Like I said just curious.

I suspect Bob is doing that so from start to current his restoration is pretty much all in one long post over the years.  From knowing Bob all these years getting this done has been a challenge but I am glad to see there is a light at the end of the tunnel for him.

Having followed Bob's restoration over all of these years, if I am not mistaken I think Bob has done almost all of the work himself.  When I was young, single and living at home I did the restoration on my Model A.... back then I didn't have any home, family or any other responsibilities, I know I would not have been able to do what Bob or many others here have done in the restoration of their cars.  I have seen way too many people take on a project like this and give up on it, I know I could not have accomplished what Bob has done on this car.

  7. Not sure about 71 and 72 but the 70 ca.e from the factory with a wire that was part of the negative battery cable clamp that attached to a hole in the passenger fender.  One time I had an issue of flickering and dimming lights.  I found that wire to be broken and after I repaired that wire my flicker and dimming disappeared.

I know they did not come on a 71 but I am going to install them. I feel they spruce up the front end.

Even though they were not a 71 item but I have heard of some people who bought their early 71 new and they were on their car from the factory.  I can't verify it but I guess it is possible.

I know I’m a non-dues paying member so I will be taken less seriously but this entire topic needs to be deleted. Have any of you even got caught up with VIN issues? VIN tampering or VIN fraud? I have, It’s all fun and dandy till it’s not..  unless you are a mostly peaceful protester or an inspiring rapper driving an Altima you guys should not be talking about VIN numbers.

It makes no difference if you are a dues paying member or not, your comments are taken the same.  As far as deleting the entire thread, I am not sure why.  Nobody is saying to do anything that is not legal.  As a matter of fact the post about the guy will make you a VIN tag indicated that person will not even touch it without seeing a clear title for the car.  Unless I am missing something I did not see anything that was of concern.

Yes we did, and since then, I've done a title search using both the "B" and "F" versions of the VIN. Strangely, they both come back as the same car.... Colour, vinyl top, interior, drive train.....

The VIN tag does not indicate Color, Vinyl Top, Interior or drive train so it can't be compared to determine matching body and vin tags..  The real key is the VIN indicating Flint and the body tag showing Baltimore.
