They look great Rob!!!! Didnt you just have a set blasted and coated????
Willie, yes. 4 out of the 5 were perfect. The 5th had flattened out somehow. Took it to Wheel Works in Burlington NJ for repairs. Then had it sandblasted and powder coated.

The order sheet description is not always the same as the build sheet. Your build sheet indicates that your car was built with the G78 15 dual stripe white walls.
Dave, thanks for the reply and info. I was unable to locate any specific info about what the W/W build sheet notation means. Your info that W/W means 2 white stripes makes sense

The Salesman's order shows:
G78 15 Fibreglass white stripe PU8
G70 15 Fibreglass white stripe P90
G70 15 Fibreglass red stripe P91
(The G78 15's are dual white stripe)
Dave, does the Salesman's order show any tires that matches up to what the Build Sheet on my 70 shows as W/W?

I meant to say that most SS 454 cars came with G70x15 white stripe tires. Non SS cars came with G78x15 dual white stripe tires.
My 70 came with the tires designated as W/W

Dave, check my post below. I am wondering if the dual stripe tires are the W/W tires that are listed on the build sheet for my 70.

That's what I would guess, BUT...the decoder shows W/S as white stripe. Maybe they mean a thinner white stripe, like the red stripe tires vs. a thicker 'white wall' like we're used to seeing?
None of the other plant sheets show W/W in their breakdown, maybe it just wasn't offered on a Chevelle in 1970, I don't know.
I am trying to think if I recall any MC's with stock white walls

Different plants, different years, probably plays a big part in the build sheet decoding. We've seen that when trying to decipher other things in the past.
My old 72 build sheet from an Arlington plant doesn't show tires at all in the boxes above, just below in the RPO code section.
P90 G70X15 W/STRIP*
Tire info is also shown in that location on my Build Sheet.

Box 106 on your sheet may have tire information in it as well.
Looks like the same info as in box 93, at least in the 'Build Sheet Decoder' disc I have for 70 SS Chevelles. They only list 14" tires, but it appears to be the same info from a few of the different build plant sheets.
Below are samples from a Van Nuys sheet, but they were the same for the rest listed (Atlanta, Kansas City, Baltimore)
BOX 106 INFO:
Perfect! Got it. W/W = White Wall probably. Thank you.

The front bumper on my 70 Monte is an aftermarket bumper. It has been on the car well over 15 years and looks as good now as it did when I first installed it. Regarding the fit, it is a perfect fit. Before I installed it I did have to drill holes for my front bumper guards. As far as the installation and adjustment...... I removed the bolts from the bumper but I did not remove the bolts mounting the bumper brackets to the frame, only the bolts mounting the bumper itself to the brackets. I was worried about the alignment but when I raised the new aftermarket bumper to the brackets the bolts slipped right into the bracket holes with no bracket adjust adjustments. Like I said, the fit and quality have been good since it has been on over 15 years with no chrome issues at all.

Rob, ty. What aftermarket source did you use for the bumper?

My 70 has a few noticeable dings in the front and rear bumpers. They are otherwise in good shape.
Wondering if anyone has had bumpers restored, with dents and re-chromed.
The other thought was to order them through OPGI and/or another parts outlet. Anyone purchase and install aftermarket bumpers successfully?
Thank you.

Hoping to redo the drivers side bucket seat in the 70. Also hoping to repaint the hubcaps. As for the 72. Nothing at this time.

Are you recharging with R-12 or R-134?? The original owner of my car said he did the conversion before I bought the car. The air didn't work when I got the car so I had my local shop check out the car and said the poa valve hadn't been changed. We ordered a new poa valve for the R-134 system and now the ac works perfect.
R-12
