Here in California the idiocy state, I believe 2034 is the last year for ICEs to be purchased new. Used purchases will still be ok. I had heard about all the dead EVs that had to be picked up by the diesel powered flat beds. Or having to wait for the gasoline powered van to bring the gasoline powered generator to get a charge. Yes, batteries don’t like those temps.
disclaimer......yes I'm a car snob 🤣 So I don't care if that's the car you want to buy.....
That said , the problem I have is the "what's good for thee but not for me" crowd demanding the commentary. I think Ford lost 30K per unit last year, dealers can't them off the lot, even Hertz is dumping all of theirs . The concept may be pure but the reality isn't at all practical.
As Mark eluded to, in commiefornia you can't charge your car or run you a/c in the house in the summer. Reality trumps (no pun intended) theory every time.
On a side note, I have heard the new S model is super wicked fast 🤣

NOT trying to trash ya'll with the snow and cold...........But they built a new TopGolf close to the house. My buddy got a gift card so we went today (1/2 price day) Hit balls for 90 minutes and was fun. I did manage to hit the ball recovery cart (NOT intentional) that thing looked like a mini swat truck 🤣Good Times

All will be done except for the fireplace part. It’s the neighbors tree so it just going to get thrown back in their woods. lol.
I had to cut up one of my trees that fell in a neighbors yard last year, quite the morning workout 🤣

And why not Mark. ??? Only 4 bolts a seat. 🤣. And by the way , the front of the inner trim is somewhat visible from the opposite side 👍🏻
I only did the outside because one was broken/missing, and yea with that mentality I should have only done one seat.🤣 But that's my story and I'm sticking to it Ron 🤣

Well, the pic is a hodge podge Mark. Lol.
71 steering wheel and 70 headlight knob. BUT if you look close to the right side turn signal indicator you can see the remnants of the chrome surrounding it. It was probably worn off during many years of cleaning.
Thanks Tom, I'll just assume mine has just been cleaned too many times 🤣

seriously why aren’t the gauges chrome trimmed?
This question perplexed me so I tried to research it and I still don't know 🙃 But I did run across 2 (one pictured) where the gauges arent chrome trimmed. So I'll ask the experts why not. Was it an option ? I know before I got it the front turn signal lenses where amber (el camino) because nobody had the clear glass during the rebuild.

I quick scanned the pic's, way outta my budget to even comment 🤣

Took out the seats to have upholstered, but a 325$ sidewall hole truck tire put the damper on that . So I just cleaned them up , took the opportunity to put the console side trim on and re installed. Not bad shape anyway. And wasn’t a priority..
Sux about the tire 🙃 But they look fine to me. I didn't do the inner console trim on mine 🤣

Sorry for your loss bill. There are a few first gens for sale across the usual sites and auctions. Not sure what your price point is, or how far your willing to travel to them

Since my Monte is in hibernation having some time to work on the Cougar. Ya know, all those little things that always take a back seat to other priorities 🤣 Its on jack stands because I'm replacing the 2 negative battery cables ya bunch of haters 🤣
Had a primo detailer ( he's done some of my friends MUCH nicer cars) do a test patch where I burned the paint with a car cover 😡So he's coming back Monday&Tuesday to cut/buff detail the whole car exterior 😁 Not one of my finest moments 🤣
Just an update, detailer did a fabulous job! Cougar looks better than it ever has, very pleased to say the least .
On a side note, our local 1 big show a year is this weekend. Usually over 800 cars. Ive stalked one Monte owner at 2 different shows, no luck 😠I'm not taking the Cougar but will have my FGMCC cards in my pocket in case I run into any other owners.

Yes I know its a FB link, but it pubic so you don't have to have a FB account.
Check out the "parts area" walk through, some NIB OEM Chevy stuff. Saw a drawer marked Q-Jet parts.
I don't know anything else than what's posted, ran across it on a racing forum so just throwing it out there

Agreed. I hope when I sell my cars that I will at least break even. Definitely cheaper to buy than to build but you don’t get the same satisfaction.
And just think how special those little surprises are when working on a newly purchased car 🤣

I just remembered this started as a conversation about an eBay MCSS. "The seller has lowered the reserve price. Bid now so you can get a deal!" The current bid is $28.8 but reserve not met.
I saw the seller "revised" the post but it still says 36K to buy it Was the price higher before?
Oh bla de oh bla da ,fix it day

That always worried me Willie. A few years ago a neighbor called me about some dead trees looming over their house. I arranged to have them cut down but luckily they were nice enough to split the bill.
But thanks for the comments, geesh now ive had to think about government mandates and insurance companies with my first cup of coffee this morning 🤣
