I also use an infrared thermometer to check the hub bearing temperatures when I stop to fuel up, bathroom break or eat. If one is much hotter compared to the others, there is a problem. Better to find out and deal with it then, vs breaking down on the side of a highway.
Great tool there, usually $20/$25 on sale at HF, also use for rough running and checking header temps

Just throwing this out there, with Prime its $118 for the 4 sensor system. I like the additional "heat" warning in case you have a wheel bearing issue.

It’s ok. I love how we always get a history lesson of the Monte.
All kidding aside, I do get some lessons from the club member comments.

This car is close to where I live but haven’t had the chance to look it over very good. These folks have been in business a very long time and know the market. They will definitely sell it over 40k , I know them well.. so, if you ever sell, don’t sell cheap.
Like we usually say, its worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Theres a bunch of wild and crazy stuff at the drag strip sometimes.

Ok, I'm just throwing this out there............But first the disclaimers........ I am not involved with the club function or activities planned for the Bristol mini -meet. I have no first hand knowledge of any hotels or properties in the area. Except the location is next to where we stayed in 2021 and had good access . Lastly I will not be participating in any club activities or event car show activities. I had a great time in 2021 even though I was only around for the arm chair racing at night. And just like 2021 I'll be in Bristol but I'll be spending all my time t the drag strip 🤘
So anyway, I did a google search for reviews at the selected hotel. And yes I know reviews are subjective, so take this however you want. The main red flag for me was 63% of the reviews were unsatisfactory for the bathroom, and general room cleanliness. Since most of us only book a room to sleep, shower and such that was a little too high for me.
I'm NOT trying to disparage the work that has gone into the planning, just passing along some info. The event host, Bowtie Nationals, suggests this hotel ( Delta Hotel Bristol) has a discount for $117 for a 2 queen bed room per night.
HOST HOTEL – Delta Hotel Bristol
SPECIAL SHOW RATE $117+tax (King Use Code GA5GA5A or Double Queen Use Code GA5GA5C) – 13.6 miles from Speedway -
Always something to learn around here 🤘I never really dove into it before. When I upgraded to the Griffin rads I went with their recommendation/requirements for the warranty .

I watched a little during the week, didn't see much over 50K which is the norm and nothing I was interested in. Always fri/sat are big money days with the primo cars way out of my pocket book range . Saw a 71 Merc Cougar 429 vert gavel for 150K, concours restoration and of course very nice. That kind of coin I'd be afraid to drive it and so its useless to me.

If you haven’t been to thunder valley, or even if you have, this would be a good opportunity to visit the area. Definitely worth the trip. Contact Jared Richie for this potential mini meet information and sign up..
I pm'd Jared 😁
One thing I noticed in the site is (• Tow vehicles must have registration hanger in window at all times and cannot park in the show.) I didn't see anything in the registration page (just going on my experience with Carlisle) about hang tags.
I'm assuming its the same for the drag strip I'll ask when I register and post the information then.

Mark will run whatever he shows up in! (Run what you brung) At the Eastern Meet in Bristol in 2021 he was running a GMC Yukon EXT if I remember correctly. Pretty impressive times for a 6,000 lb. SUV.
Laughing, when I got back to the hotel for armchair racing Mike had recorded one of my runs......worst r/t of the weekend 😮 But it was my 1st FGMCC meet and I had a blast 🤘So glad I went even without the "imaginary Monte"🤣
I don't think my schedule will let me "break" the Monte before Bristol this year, but Tom I'll just run the suburban and hang out as always 🤣 BTW, who has the most meet attendances without a Monte ? 🤣
I'm planning on going to Bristol just to race Thunder Valley in the Monte. Would be great if the club meet goes on, not that I'd be much of a participant but great hanging with all the members here 🤘

It needs seal coating by now anyways. Michelin brand seems to work good on my driveway.
Will there be a hose provided for slicks and drag radials ?
