Cool! Welcome to the club.

Check out AMK Products. They have a hardware kit for the head lamps. Here is the link for a 71-72 MC. https://www.amkproducts.com/master-kits/chevrolet-master-fastener-kits/?product_id=71MB&masterkits=ChevyMasterKits&element=Body

The first picture shows them unbolted. Are they bolted up now? Mine fit pretty good with plenty of room from touching my frame. I used poly motor mounts as well. How does your transmission mount look?

I agree with 60 over being the safe max.

Is there anyway to verify the accuracy of the factory gauges (voltage test etc.)? Or is there a shop that checks and repairs them? At this point I'm not even sure if mine work.

Welcome! Nice car. Also nice to see the other goodies that came with the car as well. 😎

Okay guys I've looked at some of the archived posts and wanted to see what the consensus is on the best and brightest headlamps to get? I'd like the appearance to remain stock.

Hey guys I'm trying to buy some factory type hose clamps from Parts Place and don't know what size they are? Upper and lower? Any help would be appreciated.

My red 71 SS I had was a 3 core rad. When it needed repair a local rad shop was able to make it a 4 core with the original tanks. Fit in nicely and looked stock but with better cooling.
Nice! I like that idea. 😎

Excellent. Thank you sir!

Hey guys my air conditioned SS came with a 3 core radiator when I bought it. It does seem to be period correct but I am not sure if it's the original radiator. Did they ever put 3 cores in a big block car with A/C? I'd like to keep it if possible and probably will add an electric fan to supplement. What do you all think?

You're welcome. If you need any help or more questions, just ask. I had copies of all the factory prints, parts lists, etc when I did the job.
Hey Joe do these bushing kits include the bushings for the radiator support? Reason being is that's all I need for the moment.

All the parts I have ordered from opgi are for a chevelle and don’t work on the Monte ( they can work with mods) they don’t differentiate real well between the two body styles. I won’t buy anything from them anymore.
That's good to know Dennis. The few aftermarket parts that I bought didn't workout either. Some had to be modified. Very frustrating!
It is pretty amazing how factory parts fit like a glove. You would think one would simply reverse engineer the original and quality check after production. Especially with 3D printing these days.

I got the Energy Suspension kits for my 72. After looking at all the different stuff online & seeing some conflicting info, I called them up. You'll need 2 kits, 3.4170G & 3.4171G. Amazon has them cheaper than Summit right now.

Thank you Joe!

Hey everybody I have a question. I'm looking at Energy Suspensions body mounts and according to their website the MC kit does not include the hardware (sleeves, washers etc.). However when looking at Ground Ups website they list a MC kit with all of the hardware. When I entered that part number on Energy Suspensions site it comes up as a Chevelle kit. I know that both cars are very similar with the exception of the longer MC frame so I think I'll be good with the Chevelle kit. What do you all think? Has anybody here used the Chevelle kit on their MC?

I just found this thread. Cool stuff! When you were going around the track I was stomping on the floor wanting to go faster. 🤣
My current build has a Vortec Pro 467. It dyno'd at 605/605.
