  1. ODE CExxxx (counter or crate engine) was used from 1968 to current year. It represents any CID and is used to indicate this particular engine was replaced under Warranty. It is a direct replacement for the original equipment. It doesn't indicate what the original equipment was. My engine is a CER code.  So it appears to be a replacement engine. I didn't find a serial no. by the oil filter area.

  2.   I was checking the engine code for my Monte had have a question.  On the top right side of the block there is a engine code but no serial number.

Would this indicate a replacement engine? On a side not I'm not sure this engine is out of this car as it was not in the car when I got it. The engine code is V0417

CRE, which is correct for my car. Thoughts?

  3. Well guys, I went will mineral oil. I soaked it down and let sit for approximately 24 hrs. It seems to have soaked some of the mineral oil. Then I wiped it dry. It looks pretty good. I wrapped it in plastic and put it back on the shelf. It will be a while before it will be installed.

  4. Hi guys,

What can I use to bring the dash pad back to life? The pad is original to the car and has no cracks. It has been off the car since the early 90's. I would like to add some flexibility back to it.

    Thanks,

    Bob

  5. I did the Frame FX kit. I can't tell you how it performs as my Monte isn't on the road yet. I got the crossmember kit from G-force. It is a self build kit. Model no. RCKIT. It sells for $165.00.
