I know we blend diesel in Canada but I don’t think we blend gas? Is that just a southern states thing?

It has to do with the ambient temperatures and the volatility of the fuel. Colder weather requires a higher volatility to burn the fuel as opposed to the heat of summer. Your fuel suppliers take care of it behind the scenes, unless you lived so far up north that it may not be an issue?

Here's a couple results from a quick search, a few others basically say the same thing.

Apparently environmental concerns are part of the mix too, as far as vapors.

I conscripted a message to him but can't be sure i'm actually sending it out properly.

I checked your account. It doesn't appear that you have a message drawn up to Dan (Overdrive).

Just ordered my Bilstein shocks through Jegs at $279. I confirmed the Bilstein part numbers as being correct as Joe pointed out. Apparently there are 8 sets left at this price, which if anyone is shopping, is about $100 less than anyone else is selling them for. Thank you, Blackhawk

Randy C picked up a full set last week after we talked on the phone. He texted me the other day saying the work he did definitely tightened up the ride.

Not familiar with that pump but does it predominantly pull or push fuel.

You want it low, and closer to the fuel tank typically.

Realistically, you could still probably find an in-tank unit, with lower pressure and use that for the carb application. I've never had real good luck with longevity on those holley external pumps. They make a rebuild kit for the lower pump body (at least they used to).

  7. Mark got them after I did. They're a definite improvement over the factory sealed beams, but still more of the yellowish color of halogens.

I've since changed the bulb to a Philips LED, which is a night/day difference.

I have pictures of before/ after here somewhere.

  8. It's not too late to sign up and meet us all in Carlisle, Pa in a couple months either. So far, it's the largest gathering to date, with something like 80 members, and well over a hundred with family members included. Great way to meet a lot of really fantastic people, and also share the trip with your family too, if wanted.

I ordered the CD's, for me easier to research (search function) print out what I need and not worry about my dirty paws trashing the book pages .

I use the CD's a lot when researching stuff for the forum, plus it's easier to screenshot, or save as .pdf files to share.

In the shop when looking for torque values or capacities, etc, thumbing thru the paper manuals is usually quicker for me.

Ok I will confirm but I believe that is the correct one. Thank you!

I found this, BUT....while looking thru their OEM harness catalog, it says that 1970 doesn't use one, it's part of the engine harness. Below is for 1971-72.

Catalog below, go down to page 51 (of catalog itself, not the .pdf legend page number - Chevelle, Monte, ElCamino section), look under trans kickdown harness.

I'm going to PM you my phone number, It'll be easier & quicker to help you.

yes exactly. I think the wire from the harness down to the trans will be in the new engine wiring harness I have on order.

I just had one in my hands the other day, while looking into Dave's problem. It's about 8 inches long, with a grommet to go thru the firewall. This is the one that came off my car. If you think that's what you need, I'm pretty sure American Autowire or M&H will have it. Confirm it's the one you need & I'll poke around and find you a part number.

Do you know a good source for the trans control wire assembly? I bought the bracket, switch and I have a new th400 engine harness on order so I should have the connector to the trans itself but I haven't been able to locate the wire assembly.

Are you looking for the wire that goes from the pedal switch to the engine compartment harness, or something else?

Does anyone know if this is the same setup for a 70 with a th400? Or is it a switch on the carb? I can't find an answer in the 70 assembly manual.

Look at pages 748-750 in the 70 assembly manual, also called M40, sheet A6.
