-
Mark i had a chassis book and i bought the assembly manual, but didnt know how much the fisher covered. i am ttuly glad i got it. the cost was minimal. $14 for a used copy. i see how it will help me on many things to come

trying to adjust my window so the door can close and not knock off the little triange on the body to window seal. it looks like it needs to lean in more and move forward a little. i have played with both stops but just cant get it. the seals are new and tight. i did the right side with no problems just cant get the left side window. anyone familiar with this issue?

Antoine,
I would be hard pressed to find anyone that could find any differences in the original clips and the reproductions. The clips were either $30 or $32. Those were the prices for the insulation and clips but I don't know which was which.
rob
i saw some listed for $35. i know for nextime. i paid that much for used ones. They do look original

Antoine, Unfortunately on these movie sets you are not allowed to take any pictures. At least that is how it has been on the previous ones I have been on. They usually don't want any pre-release photo's of the sets. I do have one picture of my car with the "Period Correct" Virginia license plate they had put on my car on he set of the Netflix Mind Hunter movie.

thats very cool Rob. I cant wait to here about it

Antoine,
I have sort of a stupid question and maybe I should have asked you before now and maybe saved you some money. The old ones you have must have been on your car before you had it painted the car. How well did they fit prior to you removing them. Were the headlights properly adjusted? These are parts that would never show once the bezel's are installed and if everything worked you could have used what had been on the car already.
Now, that said, you may be like me and would prefer to have installed what was correct from the factory. I can't say I would be doing anything differently than what you have done. Again, maybe I asked you a stupid question.
rob
Well it was the first thing i told my kids no one will see them but it will bother me forever. Not a stupid question. I like original. ill sell thenother stuff and try recoupe. who knows maybe it will become wall art

I'm at work & can't find pics of my '72 parts, but found some part numbers from a parts manual on my laptop. For 1970 it looks like 924535 & 5957684 - left & right. For 71-72, the part numbers are 5961886 & 5961887-left & right.
i just googled these numbers and they look the same both years

Steve,
If I am not mistaken, Antoine has a 70 and like many things on the 70, I think the hood insulation clips were different and they were square simi-gloss metal. I am not sure if he is concerned about being as correct as possible or not. As most know, I am more of an original freak than many others.
rob
rob you are right i do have a 70. I wouldnlike to be as original as possible. I prefer the metal clips. I wonder if the chevelles had metal clips. i remeber round one on my 68 chevelle but thats 33 yrs ago

Engine and transmission for non mechanics
in Engine Tech
Posted
i would say need a lot more info. if the engine goes to the rebuilder that is usually a seperate charge. region also has a lot to do with it. Here in South Fl. an R and R could be between $800 to $2000 and that would include front seal on transmission. The labor on the rebuilder would be additional.
