Here’s an interesting note about that image in the 1971 brochure, the mirror was added to the photo after the fact (ie touched up). It is actually a photo of a 1970 Monte Carlo that they colorized and touched up for the 1971 brochure. For the 71 catalog they changed the wheels, tires, hood emblem, halo trim, driver’s mirror and rear SS trim in the photo. The door panel still is 1970 though.
WOW! Thanks,

They came out nice. What are your side mirrors off of.
This is a picture of a 1971 Monte Carlo sales brochure center fold, with an SS sporting a drivers side remote sport mirror..
Then a pix of the drivers sport remote mirror and passenger non remote sport mirror on my 71. When we were at the 2021 Eastern FGMCC Meet in Bristol, a fan was watching the drag races on satellite tv. The airplane camera zoomed in on the car show and all the Montes, the fan called a friend of his at the show, and asked where the heck did the rt side sport mirror on that white Monte come from?.. we were parked two cars down. I said, as far as I remember, I got it thru the Parts Place..
Anyways, we made friends with the couple 2 cars down, but unfortunately he passed away the next year. His name was Richard, went by name Dick, wife’s name was Joyce, but I don’t remember their last name.. great people. Car was copper color. True story..

After sanding them down and you had a nice shiny polished bare metal look you should have clear-coated them for an interesting chrome like modified look.. it may be an alteration from Factory Correct demerit but what the heck.

Didn’t cross my mind to do that Rob, I did think of getting them chromed at some point but couldn’t find a place that does that close to me.. something about environmental problems doing chrome now.. evidently.

Took about 2 weeks to do because of the temperature and rainy weather but repainted the roof supports interior trim next to the dash. Wear of previous owners getting in and out rubbing paint odd with there shoulder or arm. Had to take them down to bare metal to get any type paint to adhere.. turned out much better. Not professional but much better…

Sounds like a good idea to have to leveling system work, but, mine still has the original on it , which doesn’t work, and I’m hesitant about swapping it out..

Been with State Farm since the 70s. All vehicles, house, daughter life insurance, one antique car insured and one they insured as a classic at a cheaper rate. One word of advice, don’t file a claim on an insurance company app. Talk with your agent..
also, insurance rates have increased 38% since 2001.. with New York State, Florida, and California being some of the highest..

Nothing actually, just sat and looked at how purty she is. I swear I think she just winked at me .. oh well, could have been winking at the beauty next door too. I’ll never tell. Come on spring please….

Wow!. Nice !. Thank you. I especially like how the comments sounded so assured that the convertible was already in production with a motorized system. And I noticed that the windshield washer system was an option..

This car is close to where I live but haven’t had the chance to look it over very good. These folks have been in business a very long time and know the market. They will definitely sell it over 40k , I know them well.. so, if you ever sell, don’t sell cheap.

If you haven’t been to thunder valley, or even if you have, this would be a good opportunity to visit the area. Definitely worth the trip. Contact Jared Richie for this potential mini meet information and sign up..

Some of my water is about 2 years old. Still crystal clear. Wasn’t aware of a specific antifreeze for aluminum though.
Yes, I wasn’t aware of this either, until this year. A friend has a pt cruiser that has aluminum material included in the engine. When you go into the parts store for antifreeze, there’s is a section that has recommendations on the jug for specific cars, Chrysler, ford, Chevy ect. On the radiator fill cap is a warning ⚠️ to use only a certain type of antifreeze. Non corrosive for aluminum…

Similar problem here 3-4 years ago. Mine was valve seals, used the viton seal. No more smoke or fouled plugs. Teflon seals had disintegrated.. just hoping yours is that easy too Larry..
