I've seen you when you're over the limit and it isn't a pretty sight.

Now that’s funny 😆. I don’t care who you are .. that’s funny. Actually I don’t remember what I looked like over the limit, and probably didn’t care:)

Back to our regularly scheduled program. Ron, congratulations on your award !! I hope you had a good time and enjoyed the show.
Thanks CK, much appreciated, it’s a difficult show to win at even tho the plaques are small. Budget cuts due to inflation or something like that. Anyway, the point is, I’m glad to see the first generation MC did so well at this show. They’re being more appreciated in this area as of late. Could have had something to do with our eastern meet this year only 80 miles away..

Haven’t yet , but got 71 in position to remove grill, paint grill mesh or crossbars whatever they are called, but for the life of me I can’t remember the name of that correct grey color on a 71.. I know I’ve seen it on here somewhere. Help, my mind has gone on vacation !

One thing you might notice Mark, for your sake I did not take any corvette pictures 😂

3 day event in Boonesborough Ky . I was there Saturday and Sunday after returning from Tennessee trip. Only 4 first gens there, stalked but no cigar. One other one belonging to a FGMCC’ fellow member. Ronnie Johnson, first time I’ve seen his 71 SS. He had to opt out of somerset Eastern meet this year unfortunately due to engine problems. All fixed now and I must say it’s a great restoration job on the car . Grey color and just plain beautiful..
Out of 600+ registered cars , we were both at the top of the points list of our class 1998 on down.. we beat out dozens of Camaros, chevelles , fords ect. With only a few points between us. I was glad for him as this was his first competition in his 71.. Hope he get to Carlisle 24..
Got a couple pics of his grey 71.

Haha that’s funny, would hate for it to happen to me again in 50 more years :)… seriously, maybe I can find some stainless steel ones , but not 100,000$ like in my back . ⚡️

I have converted to an electric choke and it uses the same type retaining clip. I would suggest trying to find a new retaining clip.
Wasn’t aware it uses same clips, no sense in me replacing carb style then . This choke works perfect and idles down at warm up too. Just wish there were a better way, a lot of damage can be done if one little clip comes off..

I’m sure the answer is somewhere on the boards , but I’ll ask anyway. Quadrajet 4 barrel on my 454, mechanical choke linkage. Was running full throttle from take off at somernites cruise , beat guy beside me by second gear. However, when I let off the gas pedal it barely slowed down !😱. Too high rpm for neutral so next step was to shut her down but I made it to a shell station a block away with brakes on. They were smokin when I finally got stopped and shut engine off in gear.
Found the retaining clip ‘ pictured’ came loose jamming throttle down and choke almost closed. Got it back together before dark, tightened clips after I got home, seems ok. Is there any other method of securing this linkage other than replacing carb with electric choke carb??? -

Hope you don't also have your x-mas decorations out 🤣 Since they are being displayed now in stores 😠
I don’t bypass thanksgiving like stores do. Walked in the Walmart over the weekend and ‘ just like that’ it was Christmas 🎄…

Linda and I really enjoyed the EM in Somerset. If I'm being honest I am a little jealous that you got to go to another Somernites Cruise. Thanks again for making that happen Ron.
Was perfect weather back in May and also this September cruise. Couldn’t have asked for a better time or better people…
