Welcome and I love the pictures. I’m already using them for reference points for my 71 SS restoration

Just sign up. Pay the fee and once payment is cleared the Monte gods will give you access to very special members only sections of the club. Good luck 👍

Sadly today was the semi annual moving of garage stuff, I have a place to put snowblower and generator (when not camping) in the front of garage today I moved them to the back of garage behind monte for the winter. I could still get them out of the way just in case of monte time. But I also cleaned some stuff out that has been taking up space in the front, time for a dump run.
Ya I feel your pain. I put the plow on the tractor today 😢😢👎

Just curious. Did you weld the new nuts in place or just tighten? Probably never have to get to them again so my question is irrelevant. But asking for my own curiosity. If you didn’t weld can you cut size appropriate holes and put in flat body plugs or would that look stupid and be to noticeable?

Drove it around a bit today to insurance agent for pictures so they can put it under classic policy. Also stopped at paint store to get a Tan mix for the stainless vinyl top trim. Then drove it to Buffalo to get an actual appraisal for a higher value than insurance would normally allow, should get that value in a few days. In all, put about 55 miles on the car today without any problems.
Added up the labor since I picked it up last January, totaled about 1403 hours. Looking back, that's a lot of couch time I'll never get back 😒
Ya but now look at all the drive time you’ll get. They aren’t worth the work when we’re doing them but it sure seems worth it in the end. Just think if you would have paid someone to do it. A lot of people can’t do what you did. That’s a hell of an accomplishment. Relish it.

You have to get the parts when they're available. Like the old saying, "he who hesitates, is lost". I held off on a couple of things, only to find they weren't available when I needed them.
On the flip side, I had ordered a lot of parts early, only to run into the end of the 1 year warranty period almost before they were even installed. Ran into some minor issues, but most, especially Summit was real good about things, especially when you tell them you're doing a frame off restoration. Plus they see you spent a ton of money in the last year, lol.
I did that on my 88 Monte SS bought gm zz4 crate motor from jegs and it was out of warranty before I even got it in the car. 15 years later and it’s only got about 300 miles on it. Ya I need to build another one. Right?

I was in that same place exactly a year ago Dennis.
If I’d quit spending money on parts I don’t need yet I might actually get something done. Driving from Cincinnati to south of Knoxville Tn tomorrow morning just to pick up exhaust manifolds 😜🔫KMN

Welcome to the fun. I don’t think a lot of us have figured out what to do with them either. We just keep working on them🤪💵

I tell mine to put a sweater on, lol
She goes from short sleeve to sweatshirt and that’s how I even get 2 degrees but I cannot say anything cause she pays the bill

Thank you!
I'm just stubborn. I refuse to put the furnace on the same week the A/C was on. Stretched it out a bit, but when the house got to 65 in the morning, I broke down.
We definitely live in the wrong part of the country though.
Ya but look st the bright side. You get to run the ac a lot less than some of us. My woman has a 2 degree temperature variance between heat and a/c. Get to open the windows probably a total of two days a year

You need one of front “license “ plate with the FGMCC logo. I keep lookingat the pics. DAHM that’s nice. I can only hope mine turns out close to that nice. WOW

I love the stance and the chrome/stainless looks awesome. As does the rest of the car. Are you feeling a little better now?

Ya and you want to tear it apart to repaint. Sometimes you have to question if it’s really worth the pain we are putting ourselves through
