Or maybe you shoulda asked that dude who appears to be polishing the fender.  I’d bet he probably knew who owned that Monte 🙄😂

  2. Welcome, Mark!  You’ve found a great group of people here.  And congrats on your Monte.  Absolutely gorgeous car. She looks super clean. Silver is my (2nd) favorite color on these cars and yours shows it off exceptionally well.

I took the car out for a drive yesterday (and yes it smells a lot better )but interestingly enough with the recent cleanup of the interior I guess the clock decided to come on board and play nice. I’m guessing you don’t see many 51 year old clocks still working.

By any chance, have you noticed that the odor in the car seems to return when you’re in it?  🤔

  4. That Custom was for sale sometime within the last several months, forget exactly where I found it online. I also forget what they wanted for it, but it was a “no haggle price” listing.

Your car looks awesome, Bill. And since you’re not too far, this is going on this coming Thursday.  This will be my third year attending… it’s always a good time with a lot of nice cars.  Even if it’s too late to register the Monte, it’s worth checking out if you have the time. It’s their annual festival, so there’s food, music, beer, tents, etc.

Not necessarily a fan of the "baby cats" but gotta 👍 on the workmanship. I'm just going to blame Glen for al this blue oval stuff 🤣

I’m a bad influence at times. But that car is sharp, can’t argue that.

Off the car lift for a bit , concrete next. In the mean time it’s fix the wheelchair lift on a spec Ed bus cause they don’t have a clue at work and they will just ship it off to some other repair shop. No kidding. Anyway, it’s fixed after watching a short video on it .. wouldn’t retract to fold up.. simple fix, so thankful for vocational education back in the day…IMG_1402.thumb.jpeg.960b7a57999bccf1f89304179a0e5b26.jpegIMG_1401.thumb.jpeg.ef25de1a5fd73b1005b6b3a8c0029c7d.jpeg

This looks like the bus I took to school. Lickin’ windows for the whole ride.

A few things that I didn’t know about the 72.
Retractable lap belts in the rear and a weight pressure sensor in the passenger seat that , I’m guessing, triggers power to the floor seat belt retractor she the car is put in gear. The driver side is always powered. Please correct me if I’m wrong, I’ve never seen these things before. My 70 and 71 has none of it.

You better double check your build sheet. Thats a rare RPO (ES1). It’s an Ejector Seat for when front seat passengers get outta pocket.

So, after talking with Tom F., I'll add a "Tribute/Clone" selection box near the bottom of the list of choices.

I'm not sure if it'll trigger the message to complete your registration again, so I'll hold off for a couple of days before adding it. This may give people a little time to possibly expect it, before it happens.

If there are any other suggestions to add to the list, let me know soon.

    Thanks,

    Joe T

Please add a “Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor” selection box for us cool kids.

  9. I’m way late to this party, but I’m of the opinion that something rare like an SS - especially a #s matching SS - needs to stay original.  Or as original as possible, which is why I’ve been accumulating various parts to have my ‘70 put back to as close to original as possible sometime in the near future.

I also believe that changing the color likely affects the value on such specimens.  Both of mine have been repainted at some point, but in their born-with factory colors. Now if I was gonna Frankenstein a car that had a drivetrain or interior (or both), that wasn’t original?  I’d built and paint it to suit my tastes.

But like others say, at the end of the day it’s your car and you can do whatever the hell you want to it.
