  1. There is a seal on my Monte that in the open space just behind the door hinges into the fender. Its about a foot tall or so and fill in the void in the front fender. I assume its for wind noise, but who knows. Anyway, is this part reproduced? Tried checking a couple on line venders (SS396, OPGI, Summit, Year One) but no luck. Maybe I'm not searching for the right thing. Thanks for your help

  2. Does anyone know if the make a rebuild kit for the door check> My replacement hinge has been rebuilt with new door pins and bushings, but the wheel for the door check is off centered. Trying to avoid buying a 'restopart" off brand door hinge, but thats looking like my only option. Any help would be appreciated.

    Looking really good 👍

Is there a reason why after striping the car completely down, that your paint and body guy would just work around the trunk lock bezel ?  It's not difficult to remove and just use a flat screwdriver for unlocking the deck lid .

He is going to remove it and the lock cylinder. I already have a new emblem to install

  4. Thats why I'm building my Monte Carlo the way I want. Nothing is original on it so I can do what ever I want. I know thats its not a SS, and I would never present it an a real SS. I would hate if someone down the road bought it from an sleezeball dealer thinking it was real. But there are enough red flags to prove its not a real SS

  5. Survived my first hurricane here in Clearwater. Luckily the storm turned inland well south of us so the Tampa area was spared, but south of us got hit hard. I feel bad for those that didn't have enough time to prep or evacuate. Total devastation.

Holy Smokes!! The body work and fitment of new panels looks great! Remember, all this work pays off.My car is 14 yrs after the fact and still looking good. Great thread on the restoration.post-259-0-93319100-1480263543_thumb.jpg

Thanks. My body guy says that he is real pleased with the way things are coming together. Nothing on the outside shell is welded yet, Still in the "sheet metal screw phase".

My dad's 1966 Olds 98 had power windows and I remember one of the wires broke on the drivers side door from thousands of times the wire harness was bent opening and closing the door. I did tape it together but it was very tight, no room.

Its much worse today on new cars, easily 20-30 wires going into the door sometimes
