  1. Anyone using/used a RetroSound RetroRadio® motor 4HD AM-FM ?
  2. Went to flush the old brake fluid, it looked like tea! Started the process and was seeing rust particles coming through! New master cylinder and 2 quarts of brake fluid resulted in a clean, good working brake system! I use a Mity-Vac for the initial bleed. An inline check valve attached to the bleeder hose from my motorcycling past allows me to pedal bleed without a 2nd person. Pro tip: a small bit of grease on the bleeder threads keeps air from sucking back. Check valve similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/Motion-Pro-08-0143-Hydraulic-Bleeder/dp/B000MXW2EM/ref=asc_df_B000MXW2EM/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312844081654&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15252157036502052133&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9012392&hvtargid=pla-572002473796&psc=1
  3. These seats are from a 2012 Chrysler 200 convertible. All power including heat, integral shoulder harness, flip forward for rear seat access. I'm going to recover these seats using the material from the bench seat. I'm going to add a suede insert in the seat, Florida is too hot for vinyl! Going to insert the back seat as well. FYI these seats were $120 for the pair! I recovered an older version of these seats for my Valiant convertible, they have worked out well. The Valiant is for sale to finance painting the Monte Carlo.
  4. The bench seat in my '72 has great vinyl upholstery, but the springs on the driver side seat and back are really weak. I weight 180 and sink 2-3 inches down and back! One of the previous owners must have been a bigun! Question: I'm going with buckets, does a bench seat have any value?
  5. Holley spreadbore #80555-1, needs rebuild with a Chevy 350 manifold. $200 shipped conus. Located in central FL, near Orlando.
  6. You must have fun at the parts counter! 😉
  7. Just picked up a Holley 80555 spreadbore to mount on the manifold.
  8. I was just gifted this spreadbore manifold. I currently have the stock 2 barrel on my '72. I had a 1405 Edelbrock on my '37 Pontiac with chevy 350 for years. Always ran great. Will this manifold work well with an adapter, or should I search for another manifold to run an edelbrock.
  9. Excellent Dennis, I can build that, thank you! 👍
  10. If you get a chance can you post somepics with dimensions? Thanks.
  11. So I discovered the missing bracket as I was replacing the dash bulbs with LED's. As usual stuff happens and I popped that tiny glass fuse, and of course I didn't have one on hand. I was close to finishing the bulb replacement, so it was time for some temporary improvisation.... 🤔
  12. Yeah, I saw those. I'll fabricate something before I pay that amount. I'm not cheap, just value driven! 😉
  13. All that was in there was a simple hardware store L bracket with i screw holding the speaker in place. I did a search and I see what the left mount looks like. Found one for $50, I think I can fabricate something myself......
  14. Pulled the dash cap to replace instrument panel lights and found the drivers side speaker attached to a small "L" bracket with just one screw! Does anyone have the correct driver side bracket? Would a Chevelle bracket be the same? Tip: You guys probably know this, but after retreiving 3 of the dash cap clips, I secured all 6 with Gorilla tape!
  15. I think they were recommended to me on another Hot Rod forum at the time. They worked fine on the other vehicles, and now are working on the MC!
  16. My theory regarding insufficient load was correct. I replaced the incandescent amber bulbs in the front and now everything flashes as it should. I'm going to order load resistors for the front signals rather than tie in additional sockets under the hood.
  17. I used the same process on the MC as I did on my '64 Valiant and '37 Pontiac. On those two I bought 1157 bulbs from superbright LEDs, and used the same flashers from Amazon, CEC 2 prong with a ground wire. On the MC I used the same flashers but bought 1157's from Amazon. Looking at the Superbright products, the have a slightly higher wattage draw than the Amazons. I did add an additional 4 ga, ground strap to the frame, and one to the firewall. No change. But..........with my head under the dash listening to the flashers click in both hazard and turn modes I pulled the lights on and the flasher started "stuttering", like they weren't latching, or like a starter solenoid when the battery is low. Hmmm, not enough draw? I'm going to tap in an incandescent bulb to each side tomorrow and see if that helps. I'll have to look under the dash to see where the harness is grounded and clean that connection. Any clue as to that location? Another thought. I havent looked, but does the firewall bulkhead connection unplug? Maybe that needs to be cleaned.........
  18. Well, I put 1157 running and turn signal LEDs in mine along with the electronic flashers with a ground wire. Turn signals and hazards flash fine until I turn on the running lights/headlights, then they stop flashing, though the flashers are clicking and the dash indicators glow at 1/2 strength. I tried switching the leads on the flashers, that didn't work. ANy ideas?
  19. The GM 1501-8459spring does not fit. It's a tapered spring with the wire on the narrow end bent in across the diameter of the spring, won't go over the pin. Not having a Menards anywhere near me (FL) I found a spring on ebay with the same part number and matching dimensions as the Midwest Fastener item that 1970mcss posted. https://www.ebay.com/itm/175030924165 My thanks to 1970mcss 👍 for sharing this info, I have a spring on the way!
  20. Thanks, that's the info I was seeking. 👍
  21. Has anyone used this repop emblem? Quality? https://www.thepartsplaceinc.com/product/1972/1972-chevrolet-monte-carlo-hood-spear-emblem-reproduction-this-is-only-the-emblem-that-mounts-in-the-hood-spear/4634
  22. Excellent, that's what I'll get if the new OEM doesn't work as expected. Thanks!
