I really can't afford to trash this transmission, if I need to I'll sell it and build an old chrysler box but I really like the overdrive

It's a early srt10 trans basicly a viper box, it's the 1 piece counter shaft and had 1,200miles when I got it, liberty has it now doing input shaft Shot peen billet keys on all 3 as well as all the bronze pads , already has carbon blocker rings and such being the viper box and also having the cryogenic and thermal treatment done That being said I'm still worried

Lol I know, 408 ls3 combo with a 200 shot , should be close to 800 at the flywheel, I'm worried about my transmission moving the weight, like to he able to launch at 6

I can't afford much fiberglass, I think I'm gonna skin my hood and use it as a pin on, at first I figured it would be wayyyy to flimsy in the center but I think it will rest on my air cleaner, I may leave just the x portion of the brace But if I can clear the stock hood I'm not buying fiberglass and I may even leave the front bumper off depending on how cheap I can get an aftermarket

I'm on a budget, and I really need to lighten this thing up, not all for performance but mostly because my trans was built with the intent of being in a 2800lb car and I don't want to grenade it, I wanna keep interior in it also altho I don't have a front seat yet

And the carbed intakes are tall plus the carb and then air cleaner, thays why I was worried, thanks for the quick reply by the way

Basicly a drag car for the street
  10. I'm looking into manual steering as well what did you end up doing? It's not hard to drive a manual box car and there is way more steering feedback, I prefer it, I dailyed a elcamino with manual box and a tiny aftermarket steering wheel. Plus it's got to be 40lbs off the front end

Hi, how is clearance on a f body t56 in the tunnel? Does anyone know what the hood clearance is like from the valley cover to the hood, or if a carbed ls fits under the stock hood? Also if it does, I was planning on skinning my hood to almost just the sheet and removing hinges, ect and making it a pin on... we do this in our street stocks and it works just fine, but thos hoods arnt 6 feet long lol And my car is missing inner fenders .. keep them off or will it cause turbulence and hurt airflow too the carb? Thanks, this is my first monte
  12. And a carbed intake is 250$ new, the aftermarket intakes are almost unnecessary.. also make plenty of torque
  13. Hey, doing 408 t56 swap, any info on trans fitment or hood clearance? Ill be carbbed so Idk if I can clear the stock hood
  14. Lsx is easy to convert to carburetor, there head flow is unmatched by any other production heads out there, Thats why they make so much power, I have a 408 with LS3 heads and carb and I'm close to 600 hp with a tight lsa camshaft I payed 400$ for new assembled LS3 heads, if you look up there flow numbers you'll be impressed. Also intake valve is 2.165
