  1. Yes Rob the price is right I just hope it turns out nice White Knight, were you pleased with the job? Mike ,I don't beleive they have a web but the phone # is 714 535-4940 and ask for Jim Wingert,I'm not sure but I think his ph # is 714 563-7561.I called the first # and they transfered me to him. Send $25.00 and he will do the job and send it back. But call them and verify everything. If I like the job ,I have a couple more to have resilvered. Send it to Anaheim Glass, 542 South Anaheim BLVD Anaheim, CA 92805 ATT: Jim Wingert
  2. Hi all Have any of you ever had this done?I am restoring a map light rear view mirror for the 70 and would like to know where a good place to get it resilvered.I have been looking on the net for a place that does the auto rear views but they are scarice.I called a couple of places but they no longer do it and still waiting on one to return my call.I found a place in Anaheim Ca. that will do it,Its called Anaheim Glass,so unless I hear of a better place it will be sent to them tomorrow.I had to remove the mirror from the holder and just send the glass. The price is 25 bucks and 2-3 wks turn around. The price sounds good if they do a good job. Thanks,TERRY
  3. Sounds good Tony,"Warning",I DO TALK ALOT ABOUT MONTES"! I am really excited about this sticker so I went out in the 12 degree night weather to the garage to get my tag #,Is this normal for a SENIOR citizen to still get excited over such little things ?lol Terry
  4. Thanks Tony,I checked out the PA site and found the 70s sticker and they look great.I just have to decide if I want my antique tag # on it or not. What did you decide?I have seen them on cars at shows and they always impressed me. It sure looks great on your Monte, thats for sure.Yes,Head that Monte West young man when the weather allows, will be glad to see you. Terry
  5. NOW TONY!!!,You just started something else!!Where did you get the PA inspection sticker? Does it ever end?lol Terry
  6. I received the door decal today,Great looking and had all the Vin# typed in and the assembly date. They even use a typewriter from the 70s. Thanks again Capri. Terry
  7. Yes I agree, I just ordered one and gave them my pruduction date and vin # to type in. Terry
  8. Thats just what I was looking for Capri, and to have the numbers and date typed in is a plus.I bought one a few years ago and had to type the # and date. Thanks a bunch.I will be ordering it today. Robert ,you may have the blue GM decal,"mark of excellence" Thanks,Terry
  9. Hi all, This decal was installed by GM at the factory,Its the one that has your VIN # and dated when your monte was assembled. Its blue with an overlay on it and is on the drivers door.I know that a few years ago they were illegal to sell, A couple of weeks ago I saw them somewhere on ebay for sale for 35.00,but I did'nt pay any mind to them to where I saw them, Has any one seen them ? I belive it was a chevelle vendor.I would like to find one just for a spare. Thanks Terry
  10. Thanks Andreas, I've never noticed the monte frame bracket, glad you brought that up though. Terry
  11. Michael, I have the clutch pedal assembly, which includes the pedals,Z bar, frame bracket, ball, pedal rod, adjusting armand also the fire wall plate which the rod runs thru.If still interested ,PM or Email me. I will provide a picture. They come from a 70 Chevelle Terry
  12. Tony!! I forgot to thank you for digging out your # and receipts.I will make a copy just in case its needed later. Terry
  13. I fixed the kickdown problem today, It was'nt as short as previously thought,it was about 1 1/2".I extended the slot in the kickdown with a "slot" from a newer model cruise control and just cut off the rod part, used a small bolt and double nut to lock it where the adjustment should be,and hooked the other end on the stud on the carb. This will work until I find the original bracket.I just took it out for a spin and it all worked great. The new rear gears 308:1 {had 256:1}the dual exhaust and the 4 barrel sure made a difference. Thanks to all Terry
  14. Thanks Tony, I will look in the Jegs catalog for a bracket.I found the cables in the Paddock cat and they also say that there all the same. Tony, I sent you a PM. Terry
  15. I used the same bracket that was on the cable originly, and bolted it in the same back left two bolts.Maybe the carb linkage is the problem.I'll look a little closer tomorrow ,it was kind of late when I finished and also a little tired,I'm getting to old to tackle jobs like this!! lol Thanks 72 Terry
  16. I changed my 2 barrel manifold to a 4 barrel with a Alumimun performer.I went with a stage 2 Quadrajet from Jegs.Do they make a differnt cable for the 4 barrel kickdown ?My kickdown cable is 2 inches or so short. The engine is a 350.I put a new throttle cable on for the 4 barrel which works fine. I was wondering if any of you went thru this and what you did to correct it.Thanks Terry
  17. Looks like you're doing a great job Carl! The photos are Awsome. Terry
  18. Just a follow up on installing the fuel line without jacking up the body. Forget it! It won't go unless you cut the back off where it goes over the spring brackets and reinstall it. Its going to be returned and forgot about. Terry
  19. A friend that has his 71 M/C body off too told me he didn't think it would go ,but would like to know before I remove the old one. No plans in the future of removing the body,so unless I'm sure that the line won't go,I'll not replace it.Its ok anyway, just wanted to clean up the under carriage. Thanks Terry
  20. I bought all new stainless brake lines and fuel lines for my 70 M/C.The brake lines are on but I'm wondering if the 3/8 fuel line will go on with out lifting the body.It looks like the problem will be over the spring tower. Has anyone tried to install it straight in? Thanks Terry
  21. My front pump seal just started leaking,Little puddles of trany fluid every where I have been. But I'm taking the easy way out,My good friend "EARL" has a tranny shop and my 70 is going in tommorow and will be finished that evening.Good luck with yours. Terry
  22. Kc,Sounds like you are really hooked up!also alot of fun to drive too. When I get the 4 barrel 0n I guess mine will have about 300 hp ,350/250hp duals and 4 barrel?I have the 308:1 posi ready to go in,sandblasted, painted, new brake cables, brakes, hardware and Aluminum brake drums, realy looks good. I may have time in about a week or so to install it.Terry
  23. Thanks for the help understanding how this rear works guys. I just wanted to be sure it was the way it susposed to work before I put it in the Monte. As far as having the power to burn them ,I probably don't have a tire smoker, its only a 350/250 hp. I added dual exhaust and getting everything together to add a 4 barrel carb, but maybe on the right surface it may.lol. Some of the car cruises, they allow you to burnout when leaving and just maybe I'll be able to lay down two black marks instead of the one tire fire.I'm planning on installing it in a week or two,Just don't have time right at the moment, been dealing with the wifes cancer and treatments, but all will work out. Thanks again,Terry
  24. Thanks KC ,Than I really don't have a problem? So with this rear will it slip allowing it to turn in driveway ect with out making any unpleasent noises, But will be posi when one tire begins to spin? Thanks,Terry Bare with me Guys,I'm trying to understand this before I install it lol
  25. Hi to all, I just bought a 10 Bolt 308:1 Posi Rear [Limited Slip] at the fall Carlisle and getting it ready to put it in the Monte.I drained the old grease out and put in new as well as the additive. The gears looked great ,so I have it all detailed and looking fine with stainless brake lines, new wheel cylinders,Alumium Drums, new brake shoes and hardware. Now to my question!,Should'nt I be able to hold one wheel and be able to slightly turn the other with a little resistance? I even put on the wheels and had a friend hold one side but it will only turn both, like a full positraction. Is this something that will brake loose after installing it or don't I have a problem? The rear come out of a 72 El Camino with the code GF which means 308:1 posi 1972. Ideas or opinions will be helpful,Thanks Terry
